16gb on 3gs on o2
app runs fine for me. Only time I get a crash is if I move along the map too quickly or if trying to add a pic of the camera. |

Hi Andrew, if the iPhone force-closes the app or the app quits unexpectedly then it stores these logs on the device. When you next sync they are transferred to your computer. If you send us these we can try and work out where the issue is caused.

not yet. these things take time, especially when it is only a minority who are experiencing the issue.

|

I have been follwing this forum for a month now since I first raised this issue. I have followed all the advice and still the app crashes,. The best I have got is that it works going to work and then worked going home, this has happened once - all other days works only one way. I have resorted to making sure that no other apps are working at the same time - still crashes.
I had hoped that the update would cure the problem - but no joy. I find this situation so disappointing especially as I have been using the speed camera for several years on my Tomtom with no problems and find it excellent.
I am reluctantenly coming to the conclusion at present that this app struggles to gain one star.
For info i am using camerAlert on Iphone 3GS 16 GB OS 3.1.3 on orange |

We are striving to iron out all the wrinkles, it's so difficult when I've never had the app crash and I'm using a 3GS. But with the crashlogs we have identified one issue that drove the 1.0.1 release and we now think we've identified one more.
Bear with us, we are working to make this app work perfectly for everyone and are not sitting back and ignoring your issues. _________________ Darren Griffin |

What _seems_ to be happening is some kind of DNS issue. When the application starts it asks the server if a newer database version is available (so that it can then alert you in the list view). It looks like for a few users that network connection fails, and in a way that is not recoverable. (Ironically we are using Apple's code for the network reachability check). This theory seems to be confirmed by reports that "it works over WiFi but not 3G" as these most certainly use different parts of the internet, and different DNS servers.
So we're trying to find a way to fix that piece of code. As mentioned before please keep sending the crash logs so we can corner that one. _________________ Lutz

I bought this app yesterday and every time I try to enter options the app crashes. Everything else works flawless.
But I cant upgrade database or change settings.
I have reset the phone several times.
I have 16 gb 3gs with 3.1.2.
Anything I can do?
Best regards,
Nickepe |

the update is with apple for review which SHOULD resolve the remaining crashing issues...
you can either wait for that or remove the app and redownload/reinstall and see if that helps?
