I have the same problem. I've had to reinstall twice in the week since I downloaded it. This isn't a complaint - I'd like to help you fix this because I am convinced there is an issue and this looks like a great app when it is working.
I haven't checked the memory because the app to do it's not free and the test I've done suggests that it's not the issue anyway. If it's really going to help I will try it, but my test was this:
- Leave the app until it doesn't work, i.e. install it then try it a day or two later.
- Delete it.
- Reinstall it.
Now it works. Note there is not reboot. I haven't developed iPhone apps but I don't see anything in that sequence that would free enough memory to make the app work if that's the problem. I'm sure it will stop at some point soon but we'll see.
When it is broken a reboot will not fix it but reinstalling with no reboot will fix it for a time. It seems more likely to me that some persisted state is causing a crash at start-up but as I said, I have no experience in iPhone development.
My phone is a 32Gb 3GS with version 3.1.2 installed.

A number of us here have 32Gb 3GS's and none of us have observed this issue in many months of testing so you will appreciate it is difficult for us to suggest a solution.
Indeed during a wide ranging beta test with many different units this issue has never been observed so we're perplexed as to the cause. _________________ Darren Griffin

may be a desperate move, but a restore may be an option... _________________ Alan --- aka Wiz.

Hello danncas
As long as you have transferred any purchase you have made on your iPhone to iTunes and completed a back up all should be restored without problem may take some time but has worked with other issues for me in the past.
If you can please add you iPhone version (3G/3GS) mem size 8,16 or 32gb) & OS version 3.1.3 etc to your signature it may help with answering your question. _________________ Alan --- aka Wiz.

did a system restore last night re inst cameralet, opened and closed app 5 times and left running overnight. this morning still running, closed app put in car and ran application, closed whilst on move would not reopen!
After first install yesterday, unaware of this thread, the app worked the few times that I tried it in the house. I then used it for real this morning, a 15 minute drive to the train station, and it worked OK.
On the train I decided to play with the settings but it crashed after the intro logo screen. I logged onto this forum to see if it had happened to anyone else and found this thread.
So far today I have tried all the following:
Re-install, works once then crashes the second time onwards.
Re-install and re-boot, works a few times then starts crashing.
At no time was track log turned on.
Once it crashes, the only fix is a re-install.
At the moment, after quite a bit of various use, the memory report (from "system free") is:
After all that typing I forgot the important stuff.
iPhone 3GS 16GB
Provider : Orange
When bought in January, came installed with 3.1.2.
Upgraded via iTunes to 3.1.3 when it first came out.
Never been jailbroken.

Hello danncus the first part sound promising it runs, was that mains powered or on iPhone batt over night?
Will it start after a restart or are you back to previous problem?
What type of power supply are you using in your car? _________________ Alan --- aka Wiz.

Not terribly helpful I know, but as I suspected, the app won't start any more. Tried reset and it doesn't help. Again, it'll probably work from a fresh install.
I appreciate the problem. I work in Windows software development and I know how hard it is trying to get to the bottom of issues that only affect customer installations. At least we have a lot of very detailed diagnostics we can get back from the customer, log files, memory dumps etc., and that doesn't seem to be an option with this type of application.
Happy to help if there is anything at all I can do, otherwise I haven't subscribed to the database updates so it's not a big problem for me. It's just such a shame since the app really does look very good.
