When I click on the bottom right of the screen it shows the battery status, which doesn't show charging.
It has been sat in the cradle for about 5 hours with the green light on. Rather than charging the battery has actually gone totally flat so that when I try to turn it back on now it boots up to the welcome screen but then flashes low battery and shuts back down again.
Any ideas??? |

try holding the unit tightly into the holder while checking the charging meter it
if it charges then it is the usual problem with this model that the clips dont hold anymore |

Hi,
It is on the cradle plugged into the mains. The problem is the battery has gone totally flat so I can't start it up to see if the status changes to charging when I push it down onto the cradle.
I have tried pushing it down and holding it on for a few minutes but it still wont start up now.
I have also tried the reset button. |

The Desktop mount doesn't use the retaining clips, it just perches on top.
Dmoblay - try rocking the Unit on the mount. I usually find that if you hold the base with one hand, and tilt the unit back with the other, then as you bring it forward push the bottom of the unit tight into the base.
Easier to do than say.
Leave it powered up for an hour or so. _________________ Richard

you will need to try pushing it in a number of positions to get it to contact
while holding it tightly get someone else to push the start button
if it does start then the only way i have found with this problem it to jam a piece of card or something between the hoilder and unit to make the connection only problem is you cant just take the unit off the holder without going through it all again |

I replaced the battery but I have to rock the gps a ton before I can get a position that it will stay on. Does anybody think the connectors in the gps are bad? can the connector be bought? is there a USA number for tomtom?
Thanks |

New mounts are still available from the UK site, but don't appear on the US site at the moment. Ask support?

Go to TomTom.com
Make sure it says United States in the top right corner
Click on Service
The phone number is on the right. |

Isn't that the UK site and number Oldboy?.... That's why I didn't put in a link, I couldn't see how to get it to consistently go to the US site.
Although you can just go to the top right corner and switch it to United States from there. |

The second box, under Answer, is Contact us by Phone. There's a Drop Down List of Countries that covers them all. _________________ Richard
