I'm probably being stupid - have only just acquired an X-960 NE - but I don't see a download link for the camera database. I'm logged in to the VM website and can see links to download Tourist Routes. Do I have to be running Content Manager to download the camera POIs?
Any and all assistance appreciated |

Yes - if you run CM you should see the cameras listed by country amongst all the other POIs. You then mark the ones you want as ADD (I think) and when you have marked them all, together with anything else you see that you fancy, you then click on the button at/near the bottom of the screen (can't remember what it's called).
That SHOULD work Unless I've got the instructions slightly wrong from memory. _________________ David

Thanks David, I followed your instructions and I *think* it's worked! The update button is still there, but the synchronise seemed to go OK. Not sure if there's any way to check on the X960 itself whether the cameras are up to date, but I'll see how it goes.
Cheers

Hope it did go ok.
BTW, just in case you didn't get a manual, you can download one from the VM site here (see 'Manuals' in the panel on the left) Quote: | http://www.viamichelin.co.uk/viamichelin/gbr/GPS/htm/nav/telechargement.htm |
Incidentally, you will also find some very useful info (should you need it) from other threads on this site, just in case you don't find anyone here with long memories when you need them! Search on 'viamichelin', 'vm', or if nothing turns up, try a subject keyword, such as 'x960', or 'traffic' etc. _________________ David

First off, thanks David - I did download the manual, all I've got to do now is read it to figure how to transfer trips etc. to the device Sorry about the delay replying, been away....

Hi MaFt, I used to subscribe to the cameras database a few years ago for my Sony u70-t (really useful thread on pgpsw on how to hack that beast, btw!) but did get a little narked when I submitted a camera position that I wasn't credited for (and for all I know still isn't in the DB). I suppose I could swallow my pride and rejoin
Cheers both

wow, you DO hold a grudge!!!
you submission from january '07 (2007-01-25 19:00:52) was regarding the re-activation of GATSO:2973 that had been removed previously. quite simply yours was not the first submission to reactivate that camera - the first was 2007-01-09 15:43:43 and then another on 2007-01-25 09:30:32.
it has also since been removed and put back again during 2008!

Yup, sure do
Thanks for the explanation, impressive record keeping too!
Regards the speed camera POIs, I'm having trouble persuading Content Manager to transfer POIs so may have to resort to pushing files around at the OS level. If things work out I may feel embarrassed enough to resubscribe
Cheers

Was Content Manager persuaded
Be a little bit careful about 'pushing files around', etc (ie unconventional approaches) with VM. It can be a bit temperamental and there's not a lot of backup (BTW, assume YOU take them before experimenting!?) these days as you know if something does screw up. _________________ David

I thought I'd already posted here to try to help but can't find it so .........
Clicking 'Update' does not update the cameras on it's own. You have to click update against each country, the word will then change to 'Add', go back and click all the 'Adds', the word will change to 'Remove', then hit the synchronise button.
If I've misunderstood the problem let me know and I'll help further if I can. _________________ Mike
