It's pure coincidence that I live not too far from Scarborough myself & that this town amongst many others, where brought to light in this forum topic. I saw that locations were missing from the map, within seconds of setting my home location (FAV1).
What really p***es me off about this, that 2 months ago, I sold an Ipaq 1945 with TT2.00 included as a package (which worked just fine !) - I thought I'd upgrade to a 2210 & never thought to copy the disk first (naughty I know, but not done anyway :-) )
So the upshot was, I had to purchase TT3.00 - GREAT, an upgrade to boot !!! -- Little did I know of the problems ahead....
As for 'faulty CD's' - very unlikely. This is an pre-production authoring error by TOMTOM's software department.
From their wording, they are insuing that 'some' discs are physically flawed - I'd like to bet that every TT3.00 disc marketed to date, is exactly the same.... _________________ HP2210 512MB - TT3.03 - DConnex (BC-307) CF GPS plus External Antenna |

I have just received Infomap Navigator 4.04 which also uses Tele Atlas Data. The M6 TOLL exists ! so does Scarborough. Tele Atlas has the data ,all we need now is for TT3 to use it.
I also looked for Ashton in Makerfield in Infomap Navigator as posted by "deesoft" it does not appear on the Map or in the data base. If a street is selected in Ashton In Makerfield is shows up as being in Pemberton Wigan so the new data is still not perfect. |

Can someone please confirm that this is a map data issue, and that the latest "correct" map data is available on the newer CDs? |

Well, as Geoff2 points out, the Teleatlas map data (used by TOMTOM & Navigator), works 100% with the Navigator 4.04 GPS software.
Therefore, it is sure bet it's the TT3.00/3.03 software itself which is at fault, NOT the Teleatlas map database.
I hope TOMTOM read these posts...

To answer your second question about the 'new' CD, going on the above, it's the program itself that will have been corrected - not the map.
As for sending my CD back.. I won't be doing that just yet _________________ HP2210 512MB - TT3.03 - DConnex (BC-307) CF GPS plus External Antenna |

I'm confused!
The map data which came with TT3 does not have the M6 toll whereas
it appears in Infomap Navigator 4.04 which also uses Tele Atlas data. This simply suggests that Infomap 4.04 is using more up to date Tele Atlas data.
It still doesn't answer the question as to whether it's TT3 or the maps that is preventing Scarborough from being displayed. |

Exactly. The TomTom products that are released later, for example, TomTom GO, also use more up to date TeleAtlas data and have M6 toll road in the map. |

Ok, I see your point.
But, consider this :
Put the very latest TeleAtlas map aside for a moment (as used by Navigator 4.04 & showing the M6 toll-road)....
The map used with the TT2.00 package, worked OK for me - with towns & roads displayed on the map where they should be - these were up-to-date at the time of release.
When TT3-00 was launched, is a certainty that TOMTOM will have wanted to put the latest map with it. They couldn't have used the map issued with TT2-00, as they are not compatible with each other (TT FAQ on website).
So, what did they use
At the end of the day, Scarborough has been 'on the map' (Skarthi’s Burgh) since 370 AD when the Romans first built the castle headland - so there can be absolutley no excuses from TeleAtlas.
Software, software, software.... _________________ HP2210 512MB - TT3.03 - DConnex (BC-307) CF GPS plus External Antenna |

Great. Please let us know. No point going through the process if it doesn't fix the problem. |

Comes up as Nelson Caerphilly, just as it did in TomTom 2.
There is a Nelson there also. |
