Re: shake to shuffle... nope, that's off. I guess I don't recognize where one muse track ends and another starts yet Smile

Re: cliff richard... guilty. kinda. I'd converted a CD to mp3 for my mum, but left it on the NAS where itunes looks. honest Smile

I often travel late at night to pick up my teenage daughter from odd places. Navigon seems to be good at keeping me company on those trips with the odd 'danger' message Smile

I'm a bit confused by the built-in ipod. I've not had time to check it out fully, only while driving, but it appears to be adding tracks to some playlist, rather than having the same semantics as the normal ipod app.

Seems to be adding stuff to an 'on-the-go' playlist as you say. Ok for flicking between tracks on the current choice, but a pain if you want to swap albums mid drive. Probably a safety feature to stop people scrolling through a billion songs to get to the one they want while driving?

I like the new voice and TTS (although it comes up with some hillarious pronunciations). Much clearer IMO.

Well, I bought it, tried it, realised that half of the streets in my parents home town were not recognised at all and that the lack of postcode support didn't help to find them.

Also a distinct lack of options compared to CoPilot and whilst the TTS is nice I can live without it for the time being as Copilot are looking at this anyway.

Also CoPilot answer my emails, Navigon answered two emails with the same stock answer and just substituted one word to make it seem relevant!

So based on the lack of customer support, lack of postcodes, lack of streets in a major town, Navigon now have a lack of £38 as I have had my money refunded after a swift email to Apple!

Might try it again at a later date when it performs it's primary task of navigating me to a destination that I know exists but somehow it doesn't!

I was one of those people when this first came out who defended it to the hilt when some were saying they had gps signal issues. Mine was fine. However, last couple of weeks this has got progressively worse to the point where it won't get a signal at all sometimes. I had one journey from north west to mid Wales where it wouldn't pick up a signal the entire way. On the way back it worked occasionally.

I've done the soft reset and even the full reset tricks but to no real improvement. I'm wondering if my car holder (herbet richter) is blocking the signal? Anyone managed to cure the gps issues? I have motion x on here as well so might sit it in the car and look at gps signal strength on that to get a better idea?

Edit: After a lot of playing around this afternoon I can confirm this is a problem with the phone more than the Navigon App. All my GPS app's have similar issues. Some good tips on the MotionX support, troubleshooting to help getting a signal!

Welcome to the forum, the version number you have quoted is the most recent one for Co-Pilot Live, this thread is about Navigon for the iPhone which is a different application all together. Which application do you have installed to your iPhone - Mike

Yeh such a shame about the lack of postcode support, my work involves going to various addresses (companies and schools) which don't have road numbers, only postcodes, probably 9 out of 10 are postcodes only, which unfortunately makes Navigon useless to me. I so hope they add them, am shocked it wasn't in latest update and amazed that they seem to think this is not important, it should be top priority.

I don't know why so many people are having problems with the 5 digit post codes. You enter the first 5 digits then click on it. This then gives you the option to start typing the letters of the street you are going to. After 2 or 3 letter presses all the other streets have been removed from the list with just yours left. why? because we live in a country of 7-digit postcodes. if i'm getting somones address over the phone etc it is easier to get postcode and house number rather than post code, street name and house number. what about hotels etc that often don;t have a street name but just a unique postcode for their property alone?

Because it doesn't know places exist! Navigate to Caerphilly in South Wales, particularly CF83 1, now look for street names begining 'Lon' as in Lon-y-Gors etc CoPilot finds about 30 ish, Navigon finds 1!

Same postcode search for streets beginning 'Heol' as in Heol-y-Frenhines, off the top of my head Copilot finds around 54, Navigon finds 0!

And if their data is that crap that it's missing around 80 streets from one major town in South Wales what else is missing from the rest of the mapping?

Happy Navigating with Navigon - NOT!
