|
|
For the past few days I have been unable to connect to the TT traffic service.
I get the message "This Tom Tom Plus service is not (yet) available in your region. Visit w,w.w.tomtom.com for more information"
(This message makes no sense as I have been using this service for a very long time)
How can I fix this ? |

Have you done a map update recently?
If so, have a look here. |

If your GO has a gns folder on it delete the gnsdata file in there. It will get recreated on boot up.
A hard reset and a clearflash might not go amiss as well. |

Can't find a gns folder.
BTW I have 2 SD cards which are virtually identical except for some POI's and the problem occurs with both. |

I have been on the phone to tom tom every day for a week nopw, my traffic has disappeared, i still have live services such as google etc but no traffic, i have done all the hard and soft resets to no avail, tom tom have now escalated this problem, looks like a lot of go 740 lives will be going back to be repaired, as i say they cannot understand what has gone wrong, i blame it on this new 2.7 version and the map download i got last week |

I''m in the same boat, and as usual TomTom are being less than helpful. I'm thinking of asking for a refund. _________________ Geraint

Geraint, follow the link Andy posted earlier in this thread it's possible your tmccodes.dat and traffic.dat files are incorrectly installed with a file size of 0kb this is a known issue with the v835 map update and is easy to resolve by following the advice in the linked thread - Mike |

Well I seem to have found a solution to my problem.
I went into 'Change Preferences'....'Edit Tom Tom Plus Account' and I resent my log in details and password, and it all seems to be working fine now (fingers crossed)
I can only presume Tom Tom Plus wasn't recognising my log in but why could it not give me a message saying "Your login is not recognised" rather than "This service is unavailable in your area...........etc ?? |

Geraint, you have a different model to me, I have a GO 500. Below is what it looks like on mine.
I simulated it in Tom Tom Home and took these screenshots.
TAP THE FIRST SCREEN ONCE.
THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO THE MAIN MENU
THEN TAP CHANGE PREFERENCES AND SCROLL FORWARD TO THE 6TH PAGE.
TAP ON EDIT TOM TOM PLUS ACCOUNT
ENTER YOUR LOGIN E MAIL ADDRESS AND TAP OK
ENTER YOUR PASSWORD AND TAP OK.
IT WILL THEN CONNECT TO TOM TOM PLUS AND REGISTER YOUR DETAILS.
