Gerry - since I reinstalled the POI's from my PC, they all show exactly as they should on all screens (including the x2 ones). The only thing I've lost with the new Navcore / map is my Favourites & I'm not bothered about them.
Dennis - it's like being in Alcoholics Anonymous - my name is Dave & I'm a bus spotter ! |

Good that they're back.
Just remember that the current station in Birmingham is across the road from Digbeth at present. They're getting on well with rebuilding the new one.
Just letting you know in case you wish to visit them all - don't leave it too long or the temp one will disappear. Never know, you may be in the bus-spotters equivalent of CAMRA and want to visit them all. _________________ Gerry

I have a TOMTOM 540 LIVE, the latest 8.351 application and UK+Ireland map and also cannot see the ICONS for cameras, POI from here (PGPSW) or for those supplied by Tom Tom when browsing a map.
I have them switched on, can navigate to the POI with the results shown but when browsing the map the ICONS are not shown.
Does anyone know too do the ogg sound files used previously successfully and downloaded to an old TOM TOM GO work on the 8.351 application or do I need to download new ogg files. I noted that when using the Warn when near POI that I get the Sound effect option with the standard Tom Tom sounds or options to have Full spoken warning, Brief spoken warning or Type in your own warning.
Any assiatnce appreciated.
Thanks.

Mike have you tried setting up the POI warnings again since you updated the Navcore? Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and it should pickup the warning sounds automatically (even if you cannot hear them).
If you have also updated the map then the ogg files needed for the spoken alerts will probably need putting back in the UK&ROI map folder as I don't think Home is capable of swapping these files from the old map to the new one - Mike |

Yes, I used the set up again - It is a new TT 540 LIVE - I forgot to mention or clarify that point.
The sounds issue seems ok now - it appears I had no sounds in my folder I copied in from so I have now copied the sound files into the TT base sounds folder and these are now available via the "Sound effect" option - they make the sound I expect on test although the real test will be tomorrow approaching a Gatso.
The other more concerning matter is the icons for cameras, POIs and even the Tom Tom supplied POI simply do not show when Browsing a map. This is on the new 8.351 software so I wonder if TT have introduced a bug. e.g Woolhampton, A4=Bath Road has some 30mph Gatso but the icon are not seen.
I will ask TT and report back but in the meantime wonder if any others users have the same problem.
Thanks for your earlier reply.

Another update concerning icons not seen browsing a map on 8.351 navcore on the Tom Tom 540 LIVE.
I have switched on to show the full set of UK cameras and Fuel PGPSW POI and when I navigated from Floral Way, Thatcham to Newbury and ran the "Show route demo" the ICONS were seen - this includes the PGPSW camera icons.
Maybe the logic on the new navcore is they do not think there is much point showing the ICONs when browsing a map!
I will ask TT still and try and get an answer.

How far were you zoomed in to the map while using the Browse map feature, although if TomTom have finally stopped auto enabling the "Show POI" option for all ov2 files on the device it is a very good move as this did impact upon performance - Mike |

The non shown ICON when browsing a map appears to be the case regardless of the zoom level.
I tested the TOM TOM 540 LIVE this morning along the A4 from Thatcham to Hungerford and can at least confirm that whilst navigating/travelling the ICONS were all shown on the map and the sound warnings worked and that clearly is my main priority.
It does indeed sound like Tom Tom have disabled the showing of ICONS on a map browse although I am surprised they have not given users the option instead for added functionality.
Will update you with what they say.

So is the Options menu not there any more on the browse map. If it is are points of interest not an option
On my ONE v4 Options menu I get
Points of Interest
Favourities
Images
Names
Coordinates |

When in Browse map, Options I have the following options:-
Points of interest Ticked but greyed out
Favourites Ticked but greyed out
Traffic Ticked and bold
Images Ticked and greyed out
Within an Advanced area I also have
Names Ticked and bold
Markers Ticked and bold
Coordinates Ticked and bold
I have noticed that if I untick the Traffic option the Points of intererst, Favourites and Images all change from Greyed out to bold and now the POI is shown in the browse map mode.
This therefore maybe the answer - if Traffic is selected POI are not shown.
Why this should be the case I do not know yet but have asked Tom Tom to advise.

This is correct, to get to the traffic map you should tap the traffic side bar to the right side of the screen, as soon as you enable Traffic on the normal browse map screen the Custom POI files are disabled - This caught me out a while ago, but to be honest its something I had forgotten about - Just remember to veiw traffic map tap the traffic side bar, to view POI on the map use the Browse Map function with Traffic option disabled - The device is working correctly - Mike |

My TT One v3 has been doing this since I updated to the new map...
It doesn't show ANY Petrol Stations, nor any of the POI's I download from POIHandler...
I'm running App v7.903, and Map v830.2306.
Can't do a Reset, as the button is knackered...
Tried copying ALL my POI files back over to no avail, they show up on a search, but the TT doesn't display them on the map, nor when navigating to them. |

Don't forget, there is a limit to the number of different poi categories that will be displayed on a map. How many do you have checked? _________________ David |
