|
|
I have noticed that my 520 with map UK & ROI version 825 will not route me correctly onto the A2 from the South Circular Road in SE London. Instead of turning right onto the A2 it takes me further up the A205 then does a uturn and turns left onto the A2. I have checked the turn restrictions and blocked roads but they are ok. So what is the best way to report this to TT as it is not really a map error. |

There are two ways.
1. Using mapshare, if no category exists for a report, then there is a 'other error' feature i believe.
2. Using the teleatlas website, http://mapinsight.teleatlas.com/mapfeedback/index.php allows you to report errors directly to teleatlas/ tomtom! _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Thanks for the reply but they are still for map errors and in this case there are no map errors it seems to be a program error |

You can still log it as an "Other Error" as this gives you the opportunity to enter some descriptive text to detail exactly what the error is.
Alternatively, log a support incident with TT and let them decide how to deal with it. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

It could be a map error - having the wrong speed attributed to a small section of road. |

It is a major junction from one main road(South Circular) onto another(A2 to Dover) controlled by a set of traffic lights. As you approach the junction it tells you to get in the right hand lane, but then does not tell you to turn right but go straight throught the lights, do a u-turn and then turn left onto the A2. I hav checked the turn restrictions and they show that you can turn right at this junction and none of the roads are shown as blocked, therefore as far as I can make out it must be a program error. You can try it with the following -
Prepare route
Address
Street & House
Eltham
Legatt Road
to-
Address
Street & House
Bexleyheath
Bean Road
You will then see what I mean.

I've just had a look (this is on the v825 W+CEurope map) and agree that it tells you to go straight on and do a U-turn.
But looking at the turn restrictions on my map it DOES ban right turns here. See picture:
Is that different on your UK map?
I don't know the junction so I won't change the restrictions myself. |

It's the same on Google maps, so doesn't appear to be a TT routing error. _________________ Anita

I dont know how to do a screenshot on my 520 but on my map the right turn and the u-turn are both allowed but it wont route it. Had a look at someones 720 this morning with WE 825 and his is the same as mine.
If you use mapshare you could change both of them as they are both allowed.
More to the point is why two maps of the same revision numbers are different.

thanks to Mike I can now use a screenshot
This is the same on UK & ROI and WE 825. I drive home this way every weekday when I am on duty and have done for the past 12 years driving from the bottom of the screen then turning right onto the A2 which although it shows no restrictions TT will not route me that way.

That will happen once Mapshare corrections start being made.
Unless something has changed very recently, Mapshare corrections are specific to each region map. In other words if you] start with a brand new v825 UK map and I start with a brand new v825 Europe map they both will be the same, but any Mapshare corrections you make will ONLY be downloaded to other UK map users, I will never see them.
Similarly, any Europe map corrections are only sent to Europe map users.
What that doesn't explain is why the altered turns are still not being used on your system. |

I have already tried using my virgin map and its exactly the same, likewise the bloke at work with the 720 does not use mapshare.

As I suggested earlier, log it as a Support Incident. TomTom may be able to tell you what is wrong, and if they can find the solution, submit it internally as a MapShare correction.
They did this for me some time ago when I asked them about the infamouus M40 J15 problem. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

I havejust spoken to CS and after updating to Navcore 8.350 this junction showed up as a no right turn so I have now corrected it. So it must have been a navcore problem |
