Downloaded the latest maps for my Nuvi 710.

Map called 2010.10 ? Happy New Year didn't know it was 2010
pity there isn't any part off the map update (that I can see)
I send Navteq the info they say they update the maps
here are a few examples:
N53 23.974 W2 48.536 M57 / M62 2 new slip roads 1 old gone
N53 14.642 W2 55.861 End off M56 lots off new roads around the area
both off these where sent to Navteq Aug 08
and are done on Teleatlas, Google maps
Garmin have released 3 map updates since then?
what did I pay £99.00 for !! ??
No Email to say new maps ready _________________ WAZE app

I don't really understand how it all works but I think that the 'latest' maps issued by Garmin are 1 or 2 versions behind the latest from Navteq, someone else might be able to confirm if this is true and explain why. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 265WT

The latest Garmin map has not been dated for certain to the best of my knowledge. the previous quarterly, 2009.1x was based on Navteq's 10/08 release. So as a guess this one is a Jan/09, or perhaps 12/08. The purchase of the map is just one facet of the map update, albeit a large part. Compiling for Garmin display, any POI additions, DEM shading and lane-assistance updating all require additional time. Perfectly normal in the PND world. TomTom's latest was actually based on a three (4?) month old TeleAtlas update when it was released to owners. Now as far as a road opened in the past few months, it could take quite some time for it actually to appear in one of the two major map company updates. You'll sometimes find corrections made in the Navteq release first, and other times in TeleAtlas. And occasionally a road may not find itself into either company's map, even tho it's been there for years. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr.

The download includes Garmin's Mapsource, thus the size is larger than the map alone. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr.
