Hi 253 after the problems with the previous version (Win XP) I did the upgrade with a lot of trepidation. As going from 2.5 to 2.6 really messed things up.
Anyway this latest version seems OK so far. Hope the MAC version is OK.

Hi, I've just updated to 1586 and cannot see any difference, can you tell me if there should be any noticable changes. It replaced 5491 which seem to do everything ok.

How strange. I accepted the update myself yesterday. Today out of curiosity I connected to Home and asked to update my go. Amongst all the stuff I declined (GPSFix, Mapshare Corrections etc) as normal, it also offered me speed cameras, which it hasn't done since I first logged on with it way back when. I have, of course, deleted the TT cameras ages ago. So anyway, I thought, why not? It won't harm to have a reminder, so I downloaded them. Then I decided to let them warn and this time I'd record a warning myself to say what type of camera was being warned (past memories of them warning three different gatsos on the M4 as three different types of camera!!). Surprise, surprise, it has now given me an incredible number of categories of camera. It used to be six, but now (at least in the types to set warnings for, so presumably there are those cameras in the downloaded update) there are...
Fixed safety cameras
Mobile safety cameras
Red light safety cameras
Toll road safety cameras
Restricted road safety cameras
Miscellaneous safety cameras
Mobile camera hot spots
Average speed check warnings
Average speed check start/end
Bidirectional safety cameras
Accident blackspots
Ungated railway crossings
Bearing in mind that TT offer bings and bongs and stuff for audible warnings, it must be quite fun remembering whether "bing" means Miscellaneous safety camera, or if that should be "bong" or "bing, bong" or "bing, bing". As there seems to be only one category for Average speed check start/end, it will be interesting to watch out for those drivers who accelerate for the start and slow down after the end!! It's almost worth another drive through Nottingham. _________________ Dennis

Happy to report like other MAC users, all is working fine. Have had a mess around last night and don't seem to be any problems, not that I use it much anyway other than for map updates and security pins etc. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100.

i will have another go at reinstalling the latest version of TT Home, as I too have been having trouble with it freezing whilst trying to plot a route when connected (it is ok not connected, by the way). I have done what TT suggested ie delete application, clear flash etc etc and i have emailed them to say it s still not working and I felt it was a problem with Home not my device!
so wish me luck and I will let you know how i get on with it!

Just to let you know, after several emails to TomTom and them telling me to delete this and that etc, when I connected last night - hey presto - a new update to Tom Tom home - and guess what - it is working fine now. I cant believe i have spent the last 2 weeks trying to sort this out and tomtom make out it must only be me in the whole wide world with a problem - when it so obviously isn't just me. Why cant they just be honest and say there is a problem which is being sorted.
It's been a couple of weeks now since I updated my Tom Tom, and today when I put it on the cradle and started TT Home, TT Home said I was running ver 1549 and a newer (critical update)version 1586 was available, would I like to download. I of course said yes, after the usual install, I re started TT Home to be told a newer (critical) update was available.
On checking "About" in TT Home it stated that I still had 1549, but on checking my Add / Remove in control panel it staited 1586. Im confused Any ideas
One point I should mention, thought I think its a long shot, this is a brand new PC, my first week running Vista, but I installed as a administrator ????

To be fair, it obviously isn't that simple... There must have been thousands of people who DIDN'T have the problems you had, and the new version wouldn't have been produced just to sort out that one issue.
Very often, reinstalling or installing a new version will sort out some subtle problem with your particular set-up.

Thanks
I do understand this, but I reinstalled Home 3 times with the same effect every time!.
Tom Tom said the next step was for me to send in my unit for a repair. I knew it didn't need this, so I am glad they did release an updated version of version - which at least cured my problem!!
