Excuse me for asking this question as having a bit of a blocked brain moment!! i have the 530T model which came with the traffic module. when i used to plug the module into the unit i remember see a pop up on the screen saying its connected. Today whilst out on my travels i ended up in quite a jam and noticed that the traffic didnt kick in as such to warn me, i then noticed that when i plug in the module i no longer get the message saying its connected. Now the point of my question is was it free for a certain period and then you have to subscribe to the traffic service or has my unit developed a fault.
thanks |

It's free for life. Could be that you haven't plugged it in properly, could be a software issue (try a soft reset) or it could be a hardware issue. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren
thanks for quick reply, i have tried a soft and hard reset and its definately pushed in correctly. Thanks for confirming that it is free for life, guess now got to find out what part is faulty ie the machine itself or the traffic module

just an update, took the unit back to shop today and straight away the assistant said the unit is faulty, he pointed out to me that where the plug fits into the socket there should be a round black disc which has disappeared. he said its a very common fault with them and that the unit has to be sent back for repair. The good thing is that it is covered under warranty. |
