I used my TomTom Go 730 today after some days of inactivity and when I was preparing a route, I realised it thought it was 1st of January 1970. The time was also 1hr behind. After an hour driving, the time was still wrong. I did a reset and after that, after it got a lock, I could see it had the right date. However, it's still one hour behind! How can I fix this? |

It needs a GPS fix to work out the correct date and time of day for the IQ routes to function correctly After that you need to correct the local time zone as the device uses UTC Time which remains constant all year round unlike our stupid clock based time - Mike |

Click on the 'Profile' button at the top of this screen. Scroll half way down to where the Time Zone setting field is. Adjust accordingly and save. _________________ David |

It's in Change Preferences | Set Clock.
2nd Page of Menu adjust hours setting by pressing "up" once. Press "Done" twice. _________________ Richard

Blimey I couldn't find that option yesterday! Sure it's there? Will look again tonight...
Thanks! |

You should have 7 or 8 pages of options in change preferences if it's less than this try change preferences/ show all menu options otherwise the clock option might be missing - Mike |

I did it manually the other day when the clocks went forward. But just checked today and i turned the clock back an hour first, then i pressed the sync button and it did it to the correct time ie GMT +1 hour.
So it must use daylight savings.
This is for UK
Try it |

Thanks everyone, sorted now. Can't believe I missed that option yesterday, I guess I got too tired to pay attention before I got to the eight page of the Prefs menu! |

It doesn't...
Once you have set the hours yourself, the "sync" button only synchronises the minutes.
Try it by changing the hours to something completely wrong then press "sync". |

Sync didn't work for me. I went to my balcony until I had s satellite lock, then pressed Sync but nothing happened, several times. I don't know if I had to wait quite a lot longer? I just did it manually... |

It's not quite as straightforward as this. If you change the time, then press the Sync button before pressing Done, it resets the hours to what they were before.
However, if you change the time, press Done, then go back and press Sync, no changes are made to the hour. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |
