Adding the Home images FOLDER worked for me.
you can download the zip archive of it from TomTom HERE
Unzip it and copy the resulting folder 'home_images' and its contents to the root directory of your SD card. |

Do not understand..... The Home_Images folder from that link should not install anything itself, certainly not Home v1.6. |

its a HP ipaq 3970 running windows 2003.
tt7 is installed on the storage card.
had tt6 installed on there before and tt home saw it okay - could it need the card formatting before tt7 installed and also deleting any tt folders on the ipaq itself?

Where did you get the software from as its certainly not intended to be installed/ supported to the hardware you are using? - Mike |

TTN7 is only supplied with specific HTC phones from certain phone companies, also it will depend upon which country the unit is sold in as to whether or not it comes with TTN7.
The application is not available to purchase as a standalone, the maps are much more upto date than the TTN6 versions, but thats no good if it won't install, you would also need to purchase a map, which if it didn't work you would get no assistance from TomTom, not even your money back!
Whats up with your TTN6 application? - Mike |

nothing TBO - except some new roads are missing etc - but thought with it been a later version that it would be more upto date also noticed that you can download updates to roads etc.
Read that v6.75 maps are better than the version 7 but v 8.15 are better than 6.75 !! |

And v825 is better than all of the ones in your list as that is the current latest map for the Nav units - Mike |

Two ways to do this:
1/ Start the application and tap the sat strength meter, then tap the "version" box, the resultant screen will offer the information you want.
2/ Use windows explorer to view the contents of your map folder, open the file with the extension of .pna using NotePad or WordPad and it will tell you the version - Mike |

I have just found out that the TOMTOM GPS software in my IPAQ is no longer available to update. TOMTOM home won't even recognize my IPAQ. When I use the older version 1.6 it still won't recognize it. I understand that TOMTOM and HP have parted ways possibly causing this issue. I was tols in another forum that there is nothing I can do, but it was suggested to me that I could simply install another GPS software on my IPAQ.
I don't know how to, or where to find the info and software to do this.
Can anyone give me suggestions? Is it just easier to buy a handheld GPS?
Thank you. |
