Waterproof

Hi guys

I have a trip planned to the Brecon beacons in a couple of weeks time , I know that the S10 is water resistant but to what existent . Do I need a water proof cover or not

Unless you plan on dunking it under water for more than a second or two it'll be fine. It's certainly weatherproof enough for heavy prolonged rain.

I regularly walk in the Beacons and have often used the A10 when it has been raining all day. It normally resides in its standard pouch on my shoulder from where I retrieve it, as and when I need it. The pouch has often been soaking wet, as has the device but provided you check that neither of the plugs have come loose you should have no problem. There does seem to be a slight risk of the bottom one (as used by the SatSync cable) flicking open when you remove it from the pouch but this has never caused me a problem.

You may get water between the screens but this has never troubled me on a walk. If it does happen I suggest you remove the outer screen on return to get it dry as some users have reported water marks being created by allowing water to dry between the screens.
