|

Hi
I turned my 920T on yesterday and on the passcode screen the numbers were randomly being pressed very quickly on their own. After many attempts I got the passcode in.
Then the Tomtom was quickly changing through all the menu screens in a random order, on some of the screens I could see it pressing all the button icons randomly very quick.
It is impossible to control it with it like this.
I have done a restore from a back up but it still does all the above, could I format the internal memory and then restore, would that be better.
Or do I have a more serious problem.
Can anyone help before I have to go to Tomtom as the unit is 13 months old and out of warranty.
Thanks
Phil |

Have a quick look at this thread and see if it helps. |

Hi
Thanks PaulB2005 for the link to the thread.
I have tried all the suggestions, formatted flash memory and restored, paper around edge, I have no screen protectors.
Unfortunately nothing worked, still going crazy.
Looks like I will have to send back to Tomtom, but it may be cheaper to buy a new 920 than let Tomtom repair mine
Cheers

If you can find a new 920T I'd go for it, they'll be dead cheap now and the Latest Map Guarantee will get you up to speed. And you could sell your spare Remote Control to one of those poor x40 owners who don't get one in the box! Make it even cheaper. _________________ Dennis

What is the warranty on Tomtoms now have they changed?
My old 910 had a 24 month warranty which was luckly when it failed in the 103rd week! |

Ive been in touch with Tomtom, they are sending me a prepaid envelope to post it too them.
They'll have a look at it, then email a price to fix and if I don't want it fixing they post it back and it won't have cost me a penny.
So I will be able to see which is best, fix or new. |
