If I install an upgraded map will my favourites be automatically transferred from my old map or will I lose them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Bernard

If you are upgrading to a version 815 map then your Favourites will most probably be lost, best bet is to convert them all to POI locations stored in a single POI Category, this way you won't lose them - Mike

A quick "How to..."

Its a manual process so depending how many favourites you have, it will take a little bit of time.
1 ) First, create a new POI category (Preferences / Manage POI / Add POI category ). Call it "Favs" or whatever you like.
2 ) Then go Preferences / Manage POI / Add POI / Favourite / and select your first favourite.
3 ) Repeat step 2 for each of you favourites.

The POI file will be found in your map folder, called "Favs.ov2" (if that's what you called it). Just copy that file (and its matching .bmp icon file) to your friends machine's map folder and enable it in the manage POI menu.

If you have one of the newer "ONE" models which doesn't allow you to create POI categories on the machine, you can use POIEdit (from http://www.poiedit.com/) to open the old Favourites file and save as a POI file from there, which you can load back on the machine.
