Sygic have today released a new version of their poi convertor software (here) which appears to fix the -0.x conversion bug found in previous versions. It still needs tab delimited files so there is still a need to convert the CSV files found here first, and it also still fails to offer batch conversion facilities. |

The current CSV layout is fine, it just needs tabs not commas as the seperator value. The filename also needs to be .txt.
All I currently do is use a word macro Oldboy wrote for me to convert all the speed zoned CSV files into tab txt files before using a batch file to do the final conversion to UPI using the Sygic software.
Thanks for looking into it though. It will be a great help (especially if the other Free POI can also be supplied in the tab seperated format too).
Edit to add a sample of the format - taken from the sample file provided by Sygic with the convertor so I have no idea what this is actually creating a POI for
Code: | ; unicode
; Created from User Poi file C:\TEMP_OTHER\POI Convertor\sample.upi
; longitude latitude name
2.324360 48.826760 Rue Antoine Chantin(14ème Arrondissement Paris), Paris |
As you can see they allow commas in the name field, hence why CSV don't work. |

that should be fine - i'll get it sorted on monday.
would there be any benefit of doing all the file types (single, consolidated, seed zoned) or would single file suffice?

McGuider supports multiple custom POIs so all the file types would help. I currently use the speed zoned downloads along with the custom Liz TomTom sound files as the new 2009 version also supports custom sound files for each custom POI. This allows me to hear the speed as well as camera type in the same way I used to on my old TT1v3 |

Thanks for doing that. They are working perfectly here for me now and has made it much easier to update the database.
only the free poi to go now and I will be even happier |
