Hi folks
Recently purchase a HP 2210, installed 3.7.1 on my desktop running WinME.
Although I could sync the 2210 my Memory-Map 2003 software locked up.
Memory-Map site states 3.7.1 is not compatible with MM2003 and suggest loading AS3.7.
OK did this including a regedit....MM still locked up even if AS3.5,my old sync software reinstalled.
Now have mapping software which is only one year old and useless.
If AS is removed including a regedit all is Ok
Can you help? |

I'm unclear what you mean in your references to what I presume is registry editing.
For downgrade instructions read this thread carefully. You will need to uninstall ActiveSync 3.7.1, clean up any garbage left over (there's details of exactly what was left over on my Windows XP system in the thread) and install ActiveSync 3.7.
You must install 3.7 for the 2210 - versions prior to 3.7 do not support Pocket PC 2003.

Thanks for reply. Finally cracked it by going to wcesetup.log and deleting the 3.7.1 dll's which are not over written went installing 3.7.
Now all ok and back in operation. :D |

It's a pain that the ActiveSync uninstaller doesn't do a complete job - I'm glad the other thread pointed you successfully to the log file. If you haven't deleted that file, it basically gives a recipe for a manual clean up of the residue.

I don't know if it will help you at all but Microsoft have slipped out a new version of Activesynch 3.7.1 a few days ago. I have not noticed any differences but the build number has gone from 3244 to 4034. |
