|
|
Our custom real voice alerts have always been a very popular service. The choice of downloads has grown enormously since we launched it a few years back and understanding what was available, choosing a voice and installing had become increasingly complex as a result.
We have now launched a new set of pages to make the process much easier with dedicated pages for Garmin and TomTom. These pages are now live, the TomTom compatible voices page can be found here and Garmin here. The voices are available in various options, some are available in all three database versions (single file, consolidated and speed-zoned) and others just one or two but there is a large range and voices to suit every taste.
We are now working to update all of the collections, removing the TEMP alerts which are no longer required and inserting pMobile warnings into each set but this will take a little more time so please bear with us! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have a TomTom One XL Europe and live in France. Are there any voice alerts for Safety Cameras that I can download? I have them for the UK and they work fine but can't seem to find the EUR ones.
Thanks Sylvia |

If you click on the TT link in the post above and check out the voice by Andy Sidell, there is a Kph file there but for the speed zoned cameras only.
There used to be others I know.
I believe that they are still updating this part of the site. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

"Graham" is me, not sure where the choice of Graham came from, just a generically chosen name I guess |

|
|
I am using Tomtom Navigator 6.032 (8351) on an HTC TyTN ll PDA mobile.
I have downloaded the latest OV2 Camera Speed Zone Complete Database.
The cameras show up, en route, when in use but the Voice warnings don't work anymore. I have now downloaded the latest Voice files (Vicki). They still do not work.
But I notice the the DataBase file when unzipped contains 4 files for each camera as opposed to 3 previously there now appears to be an additional image file ending _X2.
Can anyone help? |

the X2 icon is the large icon that appears top left, this was always an option available separately but v8.3 for TT has made the icons smaller hence we added the larger icon as a default in the download, it has no bearing on the voices.
Check the voices are present in the map folder and have the same names as the POIs. Check the warnings are still configured and if not re-configure. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Egg on my face. Reinstalled Tomtom from scratch. All working now.
Many thanks Darren.

Thanks for the new page with the Voice Warnings for camera database, very much appreciated.
I understand that that you are updating all collections to include pmobiles and removing TEMP files, which will take time and effort.
Am I right in assuming that the set "Simon" Created by 'AndyP2002' is the only full set at the moment.
If so, and in the interim ,would it be possible to note each set as "full and updated set" until complete, as this would avoid confusion.
As you can probably guess I have been very confused. _________________ TT GO 6100 |

It would take longer to do that than to upload the updated versions as they become available. It should be done in a day or two. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The Liz Whitcker section also contains the full set.
BTW Darren, The first two file sets are mixed up. The "speed zoned voice only" is actually the "single with siren" and vice versa. |

Now I'd 'thought' I'd corrected that earlier but clearly not! I'll try again! _________________ Darren Griffin |

So am I to understand that we should only insert one or the other of these icon files?
What would happen if both got inserted accidentally?
Also what is "pMobile"
Thanks. _________________ (If it ain't broke, I can soon fix it) |

No, you should copy 'both' files. For newer device that can use X2 type icons they will use the X2 icon to display the image at top left of your display.
For older devices that cannot use the X2 icon it will simply be ignored and the standard icon will be used.
pMobile cameras are explained on the download page:
