This might help you stop updating bugged firmware.
Dear Mr Marsh,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support
Your reference for your query is 081103-000867.
I have been looking into this case for you, and i have just been informed that due to the problems we have been receiving with Application Version 7.900 go the TomTom GO910, the software update has been removed and will not be offered.
This application has been sent back to the developers to fix the bugs that appeared and when they have resolved these problems we willbe releasing the new application update again.
With Best Regards
Shaun W

Regards Mike. |

As far as I can tell version 7.900 was only withdrawn for the 910 it is still offered by Home as a download for the 510.
It seems to offer no benefits until tomtom release another version of the maps. When they do this upgrade will be needed to make the map work. _________________ Paul |

Just checked on my 500 (v7.9 map: UK&IE v725.1883) and I can navigate to airports no problem (tried several) |

Just upgraded my ONE v2 to 7.9 now.
All my Favourites, recent destinations, and Warn when near POI settings are gone, as well as my startup PIN - I'm not very happy! |

If you have a look at some of the other recent posts, you'll see this is normal behaviour. The latest update needs to re-write the MapSettings file where your favourites and recent destinations are stored as the file format is different.
If you have a backup, you can easily recover them. Mike Alder wrote up the steps in one of the posts. |
