Has anybody had the problem of unlocking WP's on MM? I have received a route as normal via e-mail and then found that when I tried to alter a WP it had been locked and could not be moved nor unlocked nor deleted. The sender appeared to have done nothing unusual although he recently changed to V5 but I have received a route normally from him since then. I have tried right click and delete,WP Properties and delete, right click on the WP in the list and Delete all with no result. Any ideas how I can unlock and then delete these unwanted WP's? The route containing them can be deleted but the Locked WP's remain immovable. Any idea why/how this might have happened?

Normally if a waypoint is locked and can't be unlocked, it's because there is a locked route that contains it - the lock obviously applies to all waypoints used by that route. However you say that the route has been deleted successfully...
Which exact version of MM are you using?. I remember an intermittent problem a couple of years ago whereby MM would sometimes get confused when plotting routes and moving/deleting waypoints: e.g. it would end up with a waypoint that was part of the route but not joined up, or in some cases I would delete a route and be left with a number of disembodied waypoints. The problem hasn't happened for a long time now, maybe it was quietly fixed in V5.
It sounds like MM thinks those waypoints are part of a locked route.
Maybe you could try Overlay -- Delete All. If that fails you could close MM and delete the MM overlay file (and its backup file) and reload it - that's proof against anything.

Hi,
Yes, this is an observed bug even with the latest version of MM. I described a method to create it repeatably on MM's Technical forum, but the details have probably been lost forever now.
As far as I recall, it occurs if you include a Waypoint in more than one Route, lock one of the Routes, then export and import the Route in an overlay file. Furthermore, the behaviour is different when saving "normal" .MMO overlay files compared with the userdata.MMO file (that MM uses when closing and opening), which IMHO classes it as a bug.
As GeoffC suggests, I believe the solution is to export all required overlay data to a file, use "Delete All" and then import the file.

Thanks for the help but I was not able to get rid of the WP's and in the end I exported all the routes I wanted then I deleted MM using the normal program delete and re-installed. The result was OK ie no unwanted WP's. I then imported the routes and all seems to be OK.
