|
|
I tried Garmin Webupdater last weekend and again tonight, its shows an update to the Traffic Receiver but keeps failing when I try to download it. I downloaded one of the other arrow type files OK so I think my connection is working.
Many links on the Garmin site do not seem to be working, have they got problems?

Have used the Garmin site several times in the last day or 2 with no problems at all including WebUpdater.
I have several products registered under MyGarmin and all working fine when I navigate around the web site links
Try connecting at a different time of day. |

All those links work fine here. Try restarting any modems or routers you have. Try flushing your browser cache. Also go to the Support Page and then hit CTRL + F5 then hit the links.
This link takes you to the download page and this link should start the 4.5 Mb download..... |

Are you trying to download web-updater or software for your unit.
I never use webupdater I always find I have more control by downloading the software for my units individually, and then installing them at my convenience.
It also means that if you store the updates/downloads on your PC you have them to revert to a previous version if needed. [ie the latest appalling new Mapsource!!] |

Still not connecting.
I have asked if someone else on my ISP will try in case there is some problem between the ISP and Garmin.

Does sound like an ISP issue.
Are you in the UK, and what ISP do you use. |

My ISP is ZETNET
I am visiting some friends who are on a different ISP and working OK here.
I will pass it on to them to investigate.

WoW - you must be rich - I pay £12.99 a month which I thought was expensive, for the same service they charge £34.99 |

I am beginning to think that it might be related to my Belkin router.
I checked with my ISP and they can connect to the download URL OK.
I tried using two other routers and also using McD's free WiFi service and all connected OK.
I found the message below on the Belkin support pages, I have installed new BETA firmware which is said to fix the problem but has not done so.

Why am I unable to access secure websites or use Live Messenger through my F5D7633uk4A Ver 1144?
Question
Why am I unable to access secure websites or use Live Messenger through my F5D7633uk4A Ver 1144?
Answer
The original firmware supplied with this version of the router has an issue relating to the MTU setting on the router. The problem causes the router to fail to use the MTU setting applied in the router interface menu. This could cause the above problems.
An updated firmware to resolve this issue is being worked on, until this is available follow the workaround below.
1. Download a program called DR TCP from.
http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp
2. Run this program on each computer on the network, once the program is open make sure your network connection to the router is selected underneath where it says "Adapter Settings".
3. In the "MTU" box on the right hand side type in 1400 and click "Save", exit the program and reboot the computer.
Once you have repeated these steps on each computer you should be able to access secure sites and log into Live Messenger. Check www.belkin.com/uk for updated firmware releases. |
