If reinstalling does not help, you have two options:
1. Contact Navman. Explain what happened -- they may be willing to help you free of charge or offer good discount for new unit.
2. Open up the unit (this voids any and all warranties you may still have and if you go with this option forget about contacting Navman). F20's internal flash is just a hidden micro SD card. If you don't have it already, you'll need to get a cheap micro SD card adapter -- with it you will be able to read the card with any card reader. You could then scan card for errors and look for log files that could provide more information on what went wrong with your unit. |

emailed navman with the problem, they said they have booked it in to get fixed, but the warranty has run out, so if i send it back n they fix it, would they ask for payment for fixing it before they send it back? just in the emails they didnt ask for reciepts etc or mention about the warranty had expired on the unit etc,

Have you asked them?
If they accept that this is not your fault then it could be free since it is not a result of normal wear and tear. |

Press the reset button then connec to the PC and it should connect
If you can access the menu`s reset all through the menu`s and check the build number in the about screen it should end 029 iirc |
