I would hope so but cannot confirm that as yet. |
Thanks - so do I
I've asked a similar question of Maplins through the FAQ facility so hopefully they will respond soon.

I rang Navevo to ask about users adding their own PoI sets. The guy I spoke to was very helpful but confirmed that this will not be an option when the product is first put on the market. The facility may come along in future.

Unbelievable, so a system designed for people who make regular drops has no custom POI facility! I cannot believe anyone would design a unit without this feature nowadays _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well it certainly means I won't be buying one. To me it's an essential feature to be able to add my own PoIs.

I have 8 years Class 1 experience 5 on containers & 3 as an agency driver & Wow! I'm excited! with the imminent release of the Pronav its features are ticking all the right boxes for me. I will be getting one immediately upon its release. My Garmin 2720 has consistently performed very well, 98% of journeys have been calculated correctly without modification & I would not be without it, but I sitll can't wait to get my mitts on the Pronav. decent price too! see you in the queue........ _________________ Gangalee

I've pinged the UK PR asking what the situation is. I was assured Navevo/Maplin would contact me prior to launch but this never happened.
I'll chase for a review unit. Interestingly I see mention of speed cameras in the spec on Maplin's page. _________________ Darren Griffin |

In direct response to the posting above, we are in the process of developing a simple POI builder to enable users to process their own POI's in the ProNav format. A Beta version should be available soon and we will update you via this forum as soon as it available for download.
The team at Navevo really appreciate the valuable feedback that forums such as this provide and were possible, we will endevour to improve our products accordingly. I hope this posting demonstrates our commitment to that and we welcome any suggestions and reccomendations that you might have.
Kind regards
The Navevo team |

Welcome aboard! That's great to hear, custom POI support is an essential in any serious offering these days so that is very welcome news.
Any info on when we might be able to get hold of a review unit? I hold a HGV1 as does another of our team so we're naturally desperately keen to test and more importantly we would very much like to be the first to publish a full review! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I understand that you are in touch with our PR team and you are at the top of the priority list! We should have one with you very soon and we are looking forward to seeing the review. We will update you via our PR team in the next few days.
Kind regards

Nuff said But please do keep monitoring and posting in the forums. It's always appreciated when a manufacturer takes the time to post, says a lot about their ethos etc. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well hats off to The Navevo team for joining our forum and keeping us up to date with their product news.
Welcome aboard.
Kinda makes you want to look at their stuff very closely if they're gonna be in listening distance.
Good stuff :-) |

Has anyone actually tried one of these yet? I need to buy another Sat Nav as my son always seems to have mine. I was going to buy another cheapy current one being a Myguide 3100 which has only let me down a couple of times trying to take me up some very narrow roads. But as I only do LGV part-time spending an additional £140 is against my nature unless it's worth it.
