after becoming paranoid about leaving my tomtom one europe's mount on the windscreen every time i leave the vehicle i have come up with a cheap alternative. i bought thru ebay (but it's also done by betterwares) a magnetic mobile phone holder. this is a strong magnet about the size of a 10p piece that will stick to a convenient part of the dash. a thin metal strip is then stuck to the back of the tomtom. this arrangement works brilliantly with the lightweight tomtom one, and when you remove the unit the unobtrusive magnet is almost invisible against a black dashboard.
all for the pricely sum of £4.50 incl postage (and for this they send you 2 sets)!!
GREAT!!! |

Link............
Go to amazon.co.uk and search on HOLMAGR
They are very good, I've got a couple.
The only snag is that even though they are very small and light they sting you £4.50 postage per unit, so if you order 4 that's £18 postage, even though they all come in the same jiffy bag _________________ DashCam:

Order them with a book or something. If your order is over £15.00 you can get it post free. Amazon quotes 5 working days but it usually arrives much faster. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Not with the above item unfortunately.....
They come from a third party supplier (totallymobile) and as such fall outside of the free postage. _________________ DashCam:

Yes, sorry I didn't think of that.
I've also seen some adhesive disks that you stick to the dashboard and you can stick the TT mount to it. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Small powerful ceramic magnets are available in many hardware and craft stores. I've used them to attach notes to signs. |

From personal experience these are more than useless, I bought a pack of these and have used two discs and suffered the same problem with both discs i.e. the TT sucker mount fell of after a few minutes. Since then I pulled them off completely. |

The North American 720 comes with an adhesive disk, which I use. The disk stays firmly on the dash of my Ford Taurus. When I want to use the 720, I just firmly place the suction cup on the disk, **then** attach the unit. The suction always stays 'stuck'. The secret is some good old fashioned 'spit' on the cup before pressing it firmly onto the disk. |
