Do you have a backup prior to the installation of this new release? - Mike |

Updated my one today, no major issues...
Question, does the TomTom HD Traffic receiver exist yet and has anyone tried it?
Price on offer seems to vary from £60.00 to £120.00

You must be joking!
A TomTom feature that does not actually work yet
I also see they want £10.00 a month, well when it works...

I enquired about HD Traffic to tomtom customer service, apparently some scandinavian country has it now cant remember which one! subscription is 10 so in theory thats about £7.50 per month! The cost of unit with tomtom sim card and 3 month free use is 89.99 about £60 but like all tech exchange rates seem closer to 1 euro/dollar to the pound! just like games consoles pcs tvs ect |

Unless I use a postcode then it's fine, how can I get the old software back or am I goosed, I've tried asking tomtom but thier site crashes when you try to post an e-mail unsuprisingly...Can anyone offer advice please... |
I was rather inept too and now find myself in exactly the same situation. Anybody and idea how can I revert to the previous version without a backup? |

Please be aware that if you choose to do this (rolling back to the previous version), when you unzip the download you will be presented with 4 folders and 9 files, the files go straight into the root of the x20 device.
The folders MUST be opened and the contents transferred to the corresponding folder on the device, please don't simply overwrite the folders or you will cause a load of problems.
The LoquendoTTS folder needs to be opened followed by the lib folder then put the single file in the LoquendoTTS/lib folder on the device - Mike |

Many thanks Hoppy I have downloaded the software with no problems. What is the best way to install it? Can I just overwrite using explorer or do I need to use Home?
I won't make this mistake again thats for sure!! |

Read my post above your question, you will use Windows Explorer, but as a precaution please make sure you have a full backup BEFORE you do anything to the device - Mike |

You guys are really helpful
Yes I have made a full backup using explorer as per the sticky on the subject. If only I had done that before I installed the update....lesson learnt I guess
I'll let you know how it goes. |

Mike - I understand about not overwriting the folders themselves but when you say transfer the contents of the folders do I delete the entire content of the folders on the Tomtom and replace with the previous versions. The reason I'm asking is there is a difference in the number of files in corresponding folders.
E.g. The Tomtom ASR folder contains 78 files but the previous software version I have downloaded contains only 46 files. Do I delete all 78 files and replace with just the 46 files?
Thanks ......your help is much appreciated. |

Just replace the existing files with the downloaded files, this will leave other files that are unchangd by the update/ downgrade (or whatever you want to call it) - only the files required by the 7,221 version need to be placed on the device - Mike |

this sounds interesting!
could someone confirm which version was the one that worked prior to the '1 minute delay' problem?
the version on offer is 7221, i think i'm on the very buggy 7480?
many thanks for your time.
regards,
GaRy:)
TomTom 720
7.480
2.2.2.83
rds-tmc v4.00.013 (replacement)

I don't think there was ever a version of navcore 7 that was released without the 1 minute delay problem to be honest.
To check the version your device is runnng tap the sat strength meter and it will tell you the version on the right side of the screen, is you want to roll back to 7,221 follow the advice in a few of the more recent posts in this thread on the subject,
importantly though back up the device BEFORE you do anything - Mike |
