Thanks guys for the info on the full guide.
Has anyone had any probs with the SatSync software.
I ran it, got a window up telling me to connect active 10 which I did, the active 10 powered up and then nothing. The window remained with the same message.

I've got a reply to my question to Satmap about whether I was registered and would get the V1.15 firmware automatically....and they said it would be going out shortly (which was also refered to as 'in the next few weeks' later in the email) we have one other thing we want to do to it first!!!! _________________ I like mapping, I like mapping, I like mapping and I like to map! |

This from Satmap:
We have noticed a tiny bug on the software which any of our customers would be hard pressed to come across, but we want to get it fixed first. |

Interesting as I updated my active10 at the NEC last Friday, it worked fine on Saturday though with no apparent problem although I only had it running as a display in the car, I hope it works on Friday when I am heading for the hills, I will phone them in the morning and see if a roll back to the previous version is in order or even possible - Mike |

I wouldn't worry, no issues at all with mine as yet on the stability/bug front. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi All,
Having just bought a Satmap and connected it to my comp. The card shows up in My Computer but I cannot open the card to view its files. My pc has it in My Computer has a drive H. and askes me to put a disc in. is this correct. Can I only view the files with the Satmap Systems software off the Satmap web page. Cheers...........Kev |

The map files can only be read on the device. You cannot open the files on your PC and attempting to risks corrupting the map file. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yep...you will need to download the Satsync software to transfer files....plugging it in without SatSunc on your pc will have it show up as a drive that needs formatting. _________________ I like mapping, I like mapping, I like mapping and I like to map! |

Have read the thread. For simple clarification - does all this mean that it is now possible to create a route on my PC using Tracklogs mapping and download it to Satmap and vice versa. Does it work and are there any problems working it?
If so then I will now buy one rather than upgrade my 60c.

You can save your Routes as .trl files on the PC then run them through GPS Babel to convert to another format, I will try and get a route off TrackLogs and to my active10 later, at least Babel supports the format so its a good start.
What you won't be able to do is save a route straight from TrackLogs to the active10 the route will have to be manipulated but it should be possible - watch this space - Mike |

Ok here is how to go from TrackLogs to active10:
Create you route on TrackLogs then save it to a location on the PC:
Next run it through GPS Babel to convert from TrackLogs to GPX format
Finally use SatSync to put the converted GPX Route on the device, there is no point in grabbing a screen shot of that process as there is nothing to show, at the click of the mouse it transfers over, a simple re-start of the active10 and the route is accessible on the device:
This process isn't difficult as I have never even used TrackLogs until you asked the question, a quick download of the demo software and it soon proves that it works, sorry for the poor mapping on my active10 for the above screen shot, but I don't have anything other than base map for that area - Hope this helps - Mike |

I have no need for any conversion to go from Tracklogs to the A10. I just save as a GPX file and then import to the A10. It seems to work fine.
What I have not managed to do yet without a conversion is to go from the A10 to Tracklogs. _________________ LostMike
