|
|
Did anyone come up with an answer to mmace's question about getting the BMP to appear in CheckPOInt?
I've downloaded the Pocket GPS World Safety Camera Database and put the OV2 file in my maps folder, and, as suggested by CheckPOInt, put te BMP in "My Documents\CheckPOInt Files".
I get a "no image" icon in CheckPOInt's Overlay Settings.
I've tried moving the BMP to the same folder as the OV2 but no success.
Someone seemed to think that an image only appears for POI databases synchronised from POIplace.
(If the BMP is in the maps folder, Navigator 3 displays them perfectly as ordinary POIs)
Any ideas |

Yes, I have exactly the same problem which incidentally also occurs with the POI-Warner software
Would really like to solve this problem but have run out of ideas |

I think the problem is, the difference between the bitmaps and ov2 files names. The first letter on the filename is capital, like Speedcamera.bmp/speedcamera.ov2.
Be sure to check the letters, and that the filenames are exactly the same on both files.

Do the images display in TomTom?
There is an issue with some versions where the images do not display in TT ( cant remember the exact scenario) I used to get the POI images showing everywhere apart from my area.
There was a second issue where when you create your own images they need to be saved as 256 colour bitmaps otherwise they will not be displayed, but if you are downloading the bmps from the site you will be OK.
My Checkpoint 3.2 shows "no image" but displays the POIs correctly on TT3.01. _________________ Mike Barrett |

The BMP which came with the SC database was 22x22x2bit (monochrome) which works fine with TomTom but not CheckPOInt.
I converted this to 8 bit (256 colours) but still no luck, whether the file is in the maps folder, the "My Documents\CheckPOInt Files", or both.
I wondered whether CheckPOInt was somehow cacheing the 2 bit image, but a soft reset didn't help.
(BTW the OV2 and BMP are identically named, including captialisation)
Is there anyone from CheckPOInt out there who can shed any light on this? |
