|
|
Hey,
I've never seen a mobile camera out at night, any ideas if they are out at night, or only during the day?
Can someone shed some light on this for me.
Thanks |

Is it when its dark the mobile cameras aren't out, or is it after a certain time? or can they still be out in the dark.... |

Hi
My mate got caught on a dual carriageway doing 85 mph by a mobile camera at 23.30 in the evening. So be careful out there. He got a £60.00 fine and 30 day ban.

It all depends on force guidelines. If the road is well lit and vehicles can be identified easily then they may permit operation after dark.
If however it is not possible to accurately identify the target vehicle at a distance then it would not be good practice to operate. Not that such common sense rules have ever applied to scamera vans! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Oi, it's Police Review actually! And I used to prefer night shift as it was much easier to target those up to no good! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well yesterday evening I was driving along the M180 and at 17:10 when it was dark but not pitch black there was a traffic cop with a handheld camera pointing at the traffic in the opposite direction to which I was travelling.
So I would be careful but this is the first time I've ever seen one out in the dark. It was at a mobile location in the database as well.
