Some of you might remember that i am talking to TT about my Hands-free fault. They have sent me an E-mail to try the Clear Flash Tool. Could someone tell me where i could download this from and if this is the right way TT are telling my to do it. The details are below.
- Connect your TomTom to the computer and switch it on.
- Download the attached Clear Flash tool file and save it to your desktop.
- Right click on the 'Clear Flash - All', double clickinto it.
- Click on the 'Clear Flash - All.exe' file.
- Proceed with installing the clear flash tool.
- Once completed, switch your TomTom off, then disconnect it from the PC.
- Switch your TomTom back on.
Do a factory reset and then check to see if the problem persists.
I have heard people talking about the flash tool but i thought it was for the x20 models. Do you download it from the TT website itself. If so where abouts, is it the plus services link or somewhere else. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

I have just had to pick myself up of the floor. My Hands-free is back and is as clear as crystal. .
I cannot believe that a Clear Flash Tool has fixed my TT, I am in utter shock and i was out today checking the prices of the 520 and was going to buy one tomorrow.
2 months i have been trying to get an answer from TT and i would have thought that they would have said this to me at the start.
This is to anyone with problems with hands-free and wireless data and phone book problems, Dont go sending your device to TT or wasting any time telling them your fault until you have tried the Clear Flash Tool which is available at TT Website in the Support section. (i know this with thanks to Andy-P2002). Thanks Andy yer a pal.
I just want to say to everybody in the PGPS Forums that i hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Great New Year . _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Note: After running the TomTom Clear Flash tool you may need to activate your map again. You need your Product Code card to activate your map.
i don't have a product code with the x20 ..do i just have to reconnect to home ... _________________ TomTom 5001 |

The Clear Flash shouldn't take the activation out.
In the map download there should be a map_activation CAB File. When unzipped the resultant mapname.dct File goes in the Map Folder. _________________ Richard

I had no problem when i switched on my TT after installing the Clear Flash tool. Switched my TT on and everything was the same as before, only thing was because i done a Factory Reset i had to put all my personal touches back to the way it was but that is standard practise anyway. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Do you have the 'connect2internet' files at the root of your device. There should be 3 of them, SO file, VER file and a Data Base file. this caused a problem for me as i only had two of these and had to restore my back-up and that brought them back. Probobly because i deleted it by mistake. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

After you did the Clear Flash tool andy-c1, did you do a factory reset as TT spcified to me to do this straight away before i do anything else. I am saying this because i could'nt see it in you post andy-c1. If you did'nt maybe do the clear flash again and then a factory reset straight away. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

the flash tool worked a miracle for me as well on my tt one xl europe. i have been getting more and more frustrated with not being able to connect for about a month now. this appears to have solved it all!
i did receive some suggestions from tt support, but they didn't include the one that worked - the flash tool!. |
