No you can't I'm afraid.
Easiest way is to "watch" the topic in the dedicated subscribers forum, so you get an email when ever the database is updated.
Then put "Home" under a large, heavy rock, and just use the normal ov2 files 'copy and pasted' with Windows Explorer to update. Only takes a couple of minutes. |

Do you just copy the ov.2 files and put them in the same map folder and they will automatically override the origional files and leave the .bmp and .ogg files the same when doing the update. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

I couldn't imagine that TT would automate a process that would install a competitors product anyway. _________________ Richard

I quite agree with you Oldboy but what i was thinking was if you could somehow attach PGPS Website to the download link in My Preferences in TT Home2.1 then it would pick up any updates to that site which is nothing to do with TT itself. I thought that was what the extra link was for in my preferences in TT Home 1.
Remember i am a beginner and i am learning alot from this site and these are just my thoughts and would be greatful if others could correct me where i am going wrong. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

If you download the HOME version of the TomTom Speed Cameras, and unzip them into the Download Folder, HOME can install them for you. But I think that's as far as it goes. _________________ Richard

Ash10's camera manager will do similar. it will download the database for you and whenever you connect the device it will copy the newest files over.

either way! using ash10's utility saves you having to look but if you're fairly regular on the site then you'll probably see the announcements anyway on the main page! personal preference!

Hi guys, 1st post so go easy i'm just about to subscribe and have been reading about the camera updates, i have a couple of questions, firstly do you need winzip installed on your pc to enable you to copy the data base onto your GPS ( i've just got the tomtom go 520 ) secondly there seems to be a list of data bases to use, is it best to download them all?
Thanks |

Hi and welcome.
Quote: | firstly do you need WinZip installed on your pc |
If you are running Windows XP or Vista you should be able to right click and extract the files that way. Mac users need Stuffit.

You only need to download the one(s) you need.
For your 520 select TomTom OV2 and then the format you want. Full instructions with explanations of the database formats is here Ignore the fact is states TomTom 910 it'll also work for the x20 series. |

HI GUys
I am new to satnav
can I put all three files speed camera database in my great britain folder on my SD? Which one is the best? Does the single file contain mobile camera too?
The 3 files are
Speed zoned complete, UK consolidated and single file camera.
Kind Regards
Irwin
# On the next page, where it says 'Camera selections', select either 'UK - Speed Zoned Complete (24 files)', 'UK - Consolidated by type (Gatso, Mobile etc)' or 'UK - Single file with all cameras' from the drop down menu and click on 'Download Database' |
