As I have reached the 101 limit on categories allowed by tomtom. Is it possible for example to add my "petrol stations" POI's into the original Petrol station Category by tomtom. thereby saving an additional POI.?
If so how do I do it?
Hope the above is understandable. |

How about combining some of your POI Categories?
All Petrol stations into one group. All Supermarkets into another, and so on.
I believe that sometime ago, someone manage to replace certain locations in POI.Dat (the built-in POI File), but there are limitations, and it's not for the faint hearted. _________________ Richard

THANKS Oldboy for your quick response. I think it is it is beyond my capabilities to play around with the POI Dat file so I am going to split my POI's by Country and keep them in seperate folders as well as grouping like you suggest. I shall keep save these folders on my PC so that I can just add the relevant POI's to my Western Europe map as and when required.
Thanks for your help. |

It is if you have MapShare, but it would be on a one by one basis. _________________ Tim |

You could use this web page http://tomtom.gps-data-team.com/poi/join-ov2.php it simply joins the .ov2 files for you _________________ TT 500

The original TomTom POIs are not ov2 files, so LesMiserable's tool won't do what SPHINX wants... (although I think he was suggesting it as one way of combining the ADDED POIs together, as Oldboy suggested).
There MIGHT now be a way of doing it, but I haven't had time to do the experiments yet |
