Hello,
I have just got a dell axim x3 and i am trying to link to my PC with ActiveSync. i have installed the software from the disc and when it asks me to connect my PDA to the PC with the USB connector i starts by saying 'connecting' and then it stops. When i try to connect again it says device not found.
Any advice please??

Are you using version 3.7 or above of Activesync? If you use version 3.6 or earlier, then you get exactly what you are describing. I know - it happened to me on a work server. The CD with the Dell should have come with 3.7 on it, but you might be using an earlier installation?

ActiveSync 3.7.1 had issues with this, Microsoft broke ActiveSync so PC applications couldn't talk direct to the Pocket PC. If you uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync 3.6 or below you will be fine. I believe MS may have fixed this in the latest ActiveSync service pack, so you may want to try going to www.microsoft.com and downloading the latest build release as this may also cure it. |
