Can you add a poi by using the GPS Coordinates, ie 43.49 03.53
I've been given these Coordinates by the camp site and would like to add these as either a poi or favaourite.
I have tomtom navigator 6 on a pocket pc.
Can someone help please. |

Yes this is possible, first of all create a POI category by going to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Add POI Category - give the POI Category a name, this is the location where you can store thousands of locations if you want to "Malc's POI" might be a good choice
Next select the marker, this is the onscreen graphic that the device will use, you can change this later if you want to, for know pick one of the pre-supplied icons.
Now choose "Add POI" select "Malc's POI" from the presented list as the category you want to add the location to, go to the next screen where Latitude/ Longitude is offered as an option - select it.
Enter the Latitude value (North/ South) value followed by the Longitude value (East/ West), give the POI a name, and enter the phone number if known.
Crucial to the above is the format the coordinates you have been ginen, they could be in Dec Deg, Deg Min, or Deg Min Sec - can you post up the full coordinates offered so we can advise what setting is best to be used - TomTom can support all three options but you must get this part right or you could be a good few miles away from your intended location - Mike |

Thanks Mike,
The coordinates refer to a camp site in Spain, the address is
Camping Playa Joyel
Playa del Ris 39180 Noja, Spain
the full coordinates where written exactly as below.
GPS Coordinates: 43.49 / -3.53637 (lat./long.)
I have 4 other camp sites to enter and if I can get one right, I can do the rest
I meant to say I have a iPaq 2410.
Thanks again. Malcolm |

When you enter the -3.53637 use the W and omit the -.
Edited to add that you will have to have the Set Units | Coordinate Display set to Degrees (d.d). _________________ Richard

Thanks Richard and Mike, this is a great help to me, I've entered the first one and it works.
Just got to wait for the wife to go to bed then I can enter the rest including hotel stop overs.
