Well, I have managed to have a reasonable go at TomTom6, MioMap3, Route 66 and Navigon MN6. That is at least a 1/2 hour run of each, in a vehicle following a route.
For the MN6, I would sum it up as majoring on eye candy at the expense of raw functionality. OK, maybe a bit harsh, but when you actually use it, the fancy graphics mean nothing.
The information on the screen is far too small (for me at any rate), the screen lags quite noticeably, although the voice guidance does keep pace.
The POI-Warner software, that makes up for the lack of speed camera functionality is very klunky and crashed MN6 repeatedly. And you the POI system does not integrate with MN6, so you can't navigate to the POIs.
This may seem trivial, but the voice guidance says "please" in front of every instruction! Why? It grates after a while. Who needs a polite SatNav?
Well, for me, it looks like TomTom 6 is ahead at the moment, although that is far from perfect.
Like I said, its just my view, but I thought some-one may find it useful.
Read my impression from topic "First impression of MN6 - No good."
I hope there will be an update as soon as possible so that this becomes useful.
If peoples are happy of what they can have from Navigon, that's their business. But I got to think seriously of getting a new navigation software. And that won't be Navigon.
Unfortunately I just bought Navigon... ver 6.3... after a few hours I recon' that my money was gone for a sh..
