Hi I've just joined and have been reading the earlier posts.

I have followed the suggestions but I can't get the POI's to load up.

I know I am doing something obviously wrong but it is driving me nuts.

The Kenwood instructions are next to useless so Please can someone help me out.

I have unzipped the camera files and used the Garmin loader to put them on an SD card , the file on the card is POI.gpi

I put the SD card in the 520 turn on the ignition the kenwood head unit starts up and thats it, nothing else, just the radio or whatever I had on when I last used the car.

I have been on the custom POI screen on the head unit and that says none are loaded. The sat nav works just as it did when I installed it.

I read on one of the earlier posts that you can connect a laptop to the 520
Could someone tell me where? Is it the mini socket next to the SD slot?
If so where can I get a lead and do I need drivers on the lap top?
Could I use the laptop to read the 520 like an extenal hard drive and write the camera file to it?

Finally the sat nav doesn't work from the "direct" screen on the head unit
to us it I have to scroll through using the silver "v" key on the front . The tuner, USB, DVD, etc work from the "direct" screen though, is that normal? again the instructions aren't any help!

Sorry this is a bit long winded any help is much appreciated

cheers!

PS since I posted this I went back to the car and tried again. This time the head unit asked me if I wanted to install the POI's !!!!! Embarassed Dirty contacts on the SD card? I have no idea! Any how any info on my other questions much appreciated.
