A TomTom HOME 2.0 has been tested to work with our upcoming GO 520 and – 720 devices but it should also work with any other TomTom device. It does NOT work with TomTom NAVIGATOR or - MOBILE. |
It works with my 520, XL and RIDER2 (although I have a password problem with the later unit). _________________ Tim |

For some reason, my "current location" is somewhere in the UK, and I can't figure out how to change it to my actual home location in the US. (This is using the emulator, of course)
Any ideas where to look? I'm sure it's staring me in the face somewhere... |

when trying use the virtual tom tom, the program says it need to download some additional software, i then get an error "download not available"! message.
i'm assuming the tom tom server is down at this time, and will try again later.
i'm down, but not out,

Works on TT1 V2 Europe BUT....
Didnt update GPS data nor the TT cameras (dont use them because PGPS are better)...
So - even though I was logged in and TT connected OK I was told there were no updates even though there were.
Uninstalled and went back to previous version. Downloads all OK again.

Except that I don't have UK maps, so I always get a "Where the hell are you! I don't know how to map to that location!" |

Seems to work ok for my 510.
Downloaded the Quick gps fix as normal AND the map for UK and IE version 6.75. Wonder why that happened? I did buy that a couple of months ago but it's still in the folder. Has there been some amendment that requires an update?
I also note it automatically updates the device with the downloads so beware! You seem to no longer get the choice to select and install (or not).
Also gave an error on installing the map ; -
ERROR: This file does not exist: E:\UK and IE plus major roads of WE\pocketgps_uk_mobile_var.ov2
no stack.
Anyone an idea what that's about?
EDIT Just restarted Home2 and it wants to download the darn diddly map again along with the postcode file! a bug I assume. If it keeps this up I'm going back to the original. |

I'm still using "old" version 1.6, build 020 (May 2007). It's offering me the new Beta version, which I am currently declining.
It has downloaded a new map 675 (Annotated "for GO510 and 710 only"), which looks to be the same size as the v675 I had previously.
It has captured from my GO720 the map corrections I've done and it said it was downloading map corrections for the 720 - what happened to them I know not - I assume it updated me, but it would have been polite of it to say so. Of course, I have no idea what the corrections I received were.
So if v1.6 collects and delivers Mapshare data, I'll delay with the Beta until you guys have all told us what's wrong with it, then I'll not accept it!
I wonder what would be the value of a thread for all the map corrections we've submitted, so that we can see how long it takes to turn them round to other Mapsharers? _________________ Dennis

One feature I can’t find in the Home V2 Beta is the “Traffic Alerts” which I find useful to be able to check traffic conditions prior to leaving the office / home. I would love to be proved wrong but I can’t find the option? |
