How disappointed am I, that after spending £60 in UK maps v675, the roads are older than the v660. I can’t believe that TomTom, leader in the market of GPS doesn’t check their maps and postal codes before they put them in the market.
I am actually going to write to them and ask for my money back.
How come the older map has got the roundabout near my house and new one hasn’t? Ho come the post code database has less postcodes than the old one?
For what it costs to buy new maps TomTom has got to be more slick and attentive. |

Is Tom Tom going backwards:
I have updated to UK 675 and this shows my local area road update layout as does WE V660, So then updated WE V675 which has reverted back to pre WE 660 and pre UKv675, all of these are referenced as copyright to teleatlas within TomTom and unbelievably neither Maps UK V675 or WE 660 match the maps on Teleatlas insight website, Do Tomtom and TeleAtlas work together, Confusing or what, I certainly am, or more more to the point are TomTom a company you can trust, I think perhaps not. |

Completely agree. Waited years for a local street to appear, as it did at 6.60. paid the 'upgrade' cost to to 6.75 to find this street no longer there. How can this happen, this is not value for money.
There are some new streets on 6.75 but I would not expect any to be removed (unless the street has been demolished!) |

This is all very strange. I have access to two units; One with Western Europe V660 and the other with UK V675.
In this part of Kent V660 is definitely more up to date than V675. Surely this is a mistake and TomTom have "accidently" included the wrong map in V675. The only other explanation is that the maps are from different suppliers.
I would stear clear of v675 as it would appear to be a total waste of money. |

Further investigation shows this to be true. V660.1256 as supplied with the TomTom One V2 Europe is indeed a Navteq map.
The V675 versions which are supplied with other TomTom products are TeleAtlas.
The Navteq map appears to show more road detail and seems to be more up to date.
Stange that TomTom are using maps from both suppliers. |

I originally said that UK675 1409 was updated, upon rechecking I find its not, I also said I was confused, I am even more confused.
I have checked we v660 1256 copyright and it refers to teleatlas, no mention of navteq iether in uk675, i have also searched thru 660 and 675 map files and cannot finf any reference to navteq or teleatlas so where can i verify whose maps are whose. |

I found something very odd yesterday. Leaving my mother's house it put me on the roundabout of the A6 near Carnforth from the village of Borwick, but on the return, it took me down a road that disappeared when the road layout changed over a year ago. Very odd. Now I wonder if it was me swapping maps, but no I didn't.
I think the only thing I rely on these days is the GPS Speed Cameras, and since I do not speed (much) is a good reminder.
I wonder if the bank realises now why I insist on using my car rather than theirs. It all boils down to 1/7/07 Smoking ban. Oh and tax!!!
Safe driving. Although some of these maps are flawed and some corrections seem to have made they way back to the newer maps, I still prefer TomTom to other GPS solutions. I found v660.1223 to have some serious flaws, some of which have been corrected in v675.1409 though not all. 660.1256 corrected a lot, but introduced some flaws. Thank goodness for this Bank Holiday weekend. First time home in 7 weeks of being on the road. Poland seems to have been very much updated and Slovakia on v665.1409 is lots better. Some flaws but better than before.
And no, I do not rob banks though I liked that one. I am in UK for next couple of weeks it seems, so I will try to report a few flaws to both Navtec and TeleAtlas on my travels _________________ TomTom Go720 v8.320

The map takes longer to load than my UK only map and I have not seen any differences yet although I hope they have fixed the errors on the new A1/M62 around Ferrybridge, so whilst it was not a great deal of money, it seems a bit of a waste.[/quote]
Has anyone had a chance to test out this stretch of road yet on 6.75? When I had nav 5 last year I reported this to Tomtom and thought loads of people would. I bought 6.60 about 6 months later and expected it to be corrected and was really disappointed so have to grit my teeth and turn the volume down till I've got through it. I can't believe what I'm reading about the maps actually ending up older. I was one click away from buying 6.75 then I thought I'd quickly check this sight and have swiftly changed my mind. I'll not be updating till I start hearing some really positive reports. |

Any ideas when the next updated maps will be available for UK?
I don't really want to purchase now if a newer version will be released in the next month or so. |

One of the experts will be to tell us more, but I would have to presume that there will be new maps coming to make use of the MapShare functions. _________________ Jock

I have navigator 6 with western europe v652.1181 maps running on a XDA Orbit. I am very disappointed with the Republic of Ireland mapping. I have family in Kilcock, County Kildare which isn't that far from Dublin and Kilcock is a dot next to the M4! Does anyone know if this improves with v6.75? I was considering buying the new Great Britain and Republic of Ireland map in the hope I might see some roads in Kilcock - I know they are there!!! |

Thats quite an old map. On the WE_&_CE_675 map there are loads of small streets shown in Kilcock e.g Molly Ware St.
The UK_IE_675 should be the same but avoid the Western_Europe_675 map |

It's also the same with WE_660 - only 'main' roads shown in Kilcock. But UK_IE_675 has lots of streets showing. _________________ Phil |
