Most of my gadgets are dashboard mounted using Brodit mounting solutions
I keep reading posts on the Brodit mount and looked on the web for info, but wondered as to how they fix to a shiny (always oiled) dash.
I would try one if -
a) It sticks easily,
b) Doesn't mark the dash long term, if I decided to flog the car on.
I'm sick and tired of my Nuvi windsceen mount coming off, when i'm doing 70mph down the motorway and unable to stop. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Hi GJF
The Brodit mounting solutions are a 2-part affair. You need the Proclip, the part that fits to the dash, then the mount itself for the intended device, which fits onto the Proclip.
The beauty of the Proclip is that it does NOT mark or make holes in the dash in any way, shape or form. It basically fits in-between the gaps of the dashboard. Removing the Proclip is extremely easy, just the reversal of fitting.
For all interested parties, DSL Developments stock all the Brodit Proclips and mounts you could possible ask for. Check them out at: http://www.dsldevelopments.com

Support is also excellent! Guy named Dave who in the past has helped me out everytime I contacted him. _________________ "To Err Is Human - To Really Foul Things Up Requires A Computer! (or SatNav)"
I ordered the Brodit today from dsldevelopments, the Proclip position for my Honda isn't ideal, but anything is an improvement on the window sucker - so giving it a go. _________________ TomTom Go 60

I can also happily recommend DSLDevelopments. Thoroughly great guy, helpful and good service. I use them for my purchases, got three in the Discovery and two in the Merc! _________________ Darren Griffin

Hi GJF
How did you get on with the Proclip?? It should have been nice and easy to fit and use.
Cheers

Hi BBQKING,
Great thanks, the clip fitted very easy, as you said it fitted in the panel joint.
As the clip position is very low (front of the dash) it takes a bit of getting used to, the only major problem was what to do with the TMC aerial as on the Nuvi this comes out of the supply line to the unit.
I have experimented with different positions and have now "hidden" it between another panel joint and it doesn't seem to be any worse than when on full display.
The clip itself is a great improvement on the window sucker despite paying over £40, long term with less stress i feel it was worth the money. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Hi GJF
Glad to hear of your excellent experiences with it. The beauty with the system is the fact that if you change the car, you only have to purchase a new Proclip - the holder can be re-used, just detach from old Proclip.
The other thing I find is that the device does not vibrate as much as a windscreen suckered holder either (well in my experience anyway)
