Actually Dave.... I bought my Navigon MN6 directly from Navigon in Germany.
Small correction I actually use my MN6 all over Europe I have driven approx 12000 km in Europe mostly Germany , Holland & Belgium. To be honest I have not yet tried it in the UK yet . I am due back in Uk in march but meanwhile my MN6 is returned to Navigon in Germany.
I can confirm that MN4 & MN5 work prerfectly in UK regarding the TMC reports using the original antenna from Navigon or the Y cable with car antenna.
The customer service at Navigon are very polite but so far I have no joy!It seems the bosses are in cuckoo land!
I was expecting a much better product from Navigon with MN6.
Another disappointment are the old maps!
They get one more change to replace the TS7000 otherwise I will contact my credit card company. The idiots don't realise how much business they are losing to the competitors. :x

Ah, sorry - when you mentioned problems with TMC, I jumped to the conclusion that you were trying it in the UK. So given that it doesn't work very well throughout other European countries, the problem is even worse than we thought! Having said that, I don't recall reading about any TMC problems in the reviews on Amazon's German site.

It’s clear that MN6 was launched before it was really ready. I would guess this came about because Navigon are having cash-flow problems and became desperate for funds. This might give them some short-term financial relief but is, of course, damaging their reputation.
They were supposed to be developing a PNA with Porsche but despite its projected appearance in the final quarter of last year, there's no sign of it. That could mean that Porsche are rightly insisting that Navigon get the bugs sorted out first, or perhaps Porsche have now simply pulled out of the deal...?
While it's gratifying to see that the 6.1 patch has addressed some of the problems, the fact is that it should not have been needed in the first place. Whatever software fixes it includes should have been applied during beta testing and incorporated into the the initial (6.0) release.
The SatNav industry is extremely competitive and no matter how good your product is "on paper", customers will rightly abandon you if you don't deliver a quality and reliable realisation of that product. With so much rivalry you must “hit the ground running”. It’s no good if, like Navigon has done, you enter for the marathon without being fit for it! If you then compound that by treating your customers with the sort of apathy or obfuscation that Navigon and its distributors have done, frankly you deserve to go bust.
So, as a potential MN6 customer, what should I do? On paper it's a great product that delivers everything I personally want from a SatNav system. For me it beats the competition because the TS7000 unit is a true All-In-One device (unlike offerings from, for example, Navman where you have to plug a load of hardware modules together with cables strewn all over the place if you want TMC), the TMC functionality itself (which, if receiving reliable data, is a Godsend on the UK's roads), the sheer flexibility it offers in terms of creating and storing itineraries, the aesthetically-pleasing map rendering, the clar voice instructions, etc, etc. (It does remain weak on the POI front but I don't have a need for that, anyway.)
On the other hand, as with the early releases of MN5, Navigon have once again shown that they cannot be trusted. So do I wait another six months to see if they not only survive but get MN6 sorted... or should I just abandon them to their fate now and choose a competitor's product instead?
It’s such a shame because MN6 has the potential to be a class-leading product (as MN4 was in its day) and should be worrying other SatNav companies. But that greatness is undermined by poor development management, negligible marketing (at least here in the UK) and disorganised customer care. If I was the head of any of the other SatNav companies, I would now be waiting to see Navigon go into insolvency and then pounce to snap up the rights to their software source code dead cheap!

Just seen on the Navigon UK website in Accessories.
It is the TMC modul, their spelling not mine, which I bought last year. The details are below:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Information for Modul TMC for the modular GPS receiver
Put an end to losing time in traffic jams. With TMC you outsmart every traffic jam.
TMC uses a special function of the Radio Data System (RDS). Traffic and weather data are being received continuously and in real-time. Alternative routes are being calculated and recommended within seconds if needed. Traffic jams, construction areas and other hazard zones can be avoided providently.
The TMC module is compatible with the modular GPS receiver only and does not work with the NAVIGON TriCeiver!
Please note, that this module only can be used as add-on for the GPS-Receiver of the MobileNavigator|4 !
Now they are saying MN4 only. We have users saying 5.2.6 is working even occasionally I see the symbol change to Green BUT I have never seen any traffic info. although on occasion we did appear to go out of our way to get to some places - maybe it WAS working!
Maybe at Hanover all the details will be revealed!?!
I have just ordered the GNS 5843, which has the TMC module built into it, I have the old style one which is useless evan with the car aerial splitter which was also brought from Navigon with ver 5.26. I have now upgraded to MN6, and the TMS signal is very poor, I will post when I get the newer unit to see if its any better.
I have done the upgrade to VER 6.15, but it seems to have more problems than VER 6.
I have now lost the icon when approaching a camera (POI-Warner Installed) and it no longer advises when to make a turn, it used to say "turn *** in 200ft" now it just say "turn left". Do you have the same thing happening on your PDA?

As I think I said earlier I purchased POI Warner which, I discovered, only works properly with 6.1 and just before my Sunday trip I loaded the latest data from our friends here.

I now have POI Warner icons I didn't have before. I think they came with the new database that came with 6.1. Also it advises "to check ones speed" when approaching speed cameras.

Mine continues to say "turn left in 200 yards" etc.
However I did have one occasion when I was going somewhere new, in central London, Navigon decided to reboot so had to guess a few junctions before stopping to re-enter the destination!
Didn't have a chance to check the TMC aspect on this journey.

Hi Guys,
I have updated and can conform that with this latest version TMC DOES STILL NOT WORK !!!
The software scans the radio stations but never downloads any TMC data, if anyone from Navigon is reading this then THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE SORTED STRAIGHT AWAY.
It totally wrong to use the paying public as beta testers.
I am going back to MioMap where the TMC works flawlessly!!

I got this email from them today 23/03/2007
Dear *****,
We are sorry that you are finding any problems with our product.
Concerning the issue with the Road Speed Signs we will forward this to the techniciens department.
As soon as they replied we will inform you via e-mail what we could do.
