The speed alert on the A556 in Cheshire at N53deg 14.928 W002deg 29.314 shows as 60mph, however it is 70mph in this location.Could this be checked and altered for future updates? |

I think you'll find 60mph is correct. That is the link between the M6 & M56 and is a National Speed Limit Road, but as it is a single carriageway road and not a dual carriageway the 60mph limit applies.
It's a common misunderstanding and cost a colleague 3 points a few years back. _________________ Thx

Well spotted that man!
Maybe MaFt can put a flag in his checking system so that if any 70mph submissions come in for a single carriageways, it can warn him? |

I bet the only way this can be covered is by inserting a new item in the submission page for the submitter to say "Type of road" with dropdown window of Motorway | Dual | Single | One Way or somesuch. I rather expect MaFt's thingy hasn't got the faintest idea whether a road is dual or anything.
PS What are you doing up at this time, Andy - you're usually a night owl? :D _________________ Dennis

It's no use doing free plugs - I haven't got cable or dish, just Freeview (and I can't get the blasted DVD recorder to record - got just one minute each of the two Christmas episodes of Vicar of Dibley and we didn't see the first one due to noisy family visitors).
When I were a lad, we used to have a smell at some shellfish broth once a year as a special treat in 't factory and rubbed our bare feet over 't empty shells afterwards and still had sixpence left over. _________________ Dennis
