|
|
Just wanted to check if someone can confirm they are using a TomTom ONE New Edition in a Ford Focus with heated electric front windscreen without any probs.
I am pretty sure it will be OK, but want to hear someone say they have this working to be sure.
This is for a friend, who lives a way away, so checking this with my original TomTom ONE is not easy to do if we can avoid it.
Thanks. _________________ --

Hi,
Used both a Classic and a 910 to right of Focus heated screen with no problems at all.
Regards

Yeah it works fine in my 06 plate Focus Ghia.
Its the solar reflect screens that cause the problems (they give off a purplish tinge when you look at them)

To confirm what Cleggy says: A friend had a problem losing the satellite signal in his Mercedes which had a solar reflecting heated screen. He asked me if I had a problem in my Mondeo which has a heated screen and I hadn't. He solved the problem by fitting an external antenna in the rear window. I'm sure that Cleggy is right, the problem is the solar reflecting glass not the heated screen.

The ONE (both v1 and v2) has a SiRFStarIII GPS receiver that functions fine behind heated and or athermic windscreens.
Before the advent of SiRFStarIII you would have needed an external antenna in many cases.
Fear not though, it'll work fine _________________ Darren Griffin |

Our TT1 (original) works fine in a Ford Fiesta Ghia which has a heated front screen; hope that helps! _________________ TT GO app on Android Phone
