If you haven't already done so, pay your £2 (1 month) or £19 (1 year) to become a subscriber.
Follow this link:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras
Select "Garmin" from the "SatNav System" drop down menu.
Select "UK - GPSR map overlay (Older GPS systems)" from the "Camera selections" drop down menu then click download.
The instructions and the installer are inside the zip file (get WinZip if you need something to unzip it with).
Good luck! _________________ Gone fishing! |

The database download page is still giving this misleading detail.
I had been waiting for the update and today found the update was available.
The Garmin GPSR database has not been updated yet |

Has this database been updated yet?
It appears to have been, but I have failed to get it to instal!

I just downloaded the overlay, and it's definitely not what I sent them 24 hours ago. I guess it just hasn't found its way into the download system yet.

Yes, that's what happens when you try to re-install the same version twice. What you've downloaded is what you already have from last time.

Clearly there is an issue, we'll investigate and report back _________________ Darren Griffin |

hence before that time it said 'not been updated yet' and now it says 'has now been updated'

I knew there'd be a simple answer
To make the job of knowing what version you have just downloaded a little easier, I've worked out a way of putting the Version number in the .msi file. Starting from the next download, you should be able to hover your mouse over the .msi file (once you've extracted it from the .zip) and the version number will be displayed. Alternatively you can right-click on the file and check Properties, where it will be one of the fields.

It is still saying on the camera download page[with Google Map]:-
The Garmin GPSR database has not been updated yet |

True, but at least the map itself has been updated.
Thirldy, MaFt, is there any way that this can be automated so that when the map updates, the message on the download screen changes? Is there anything I can do which might help such as enclosing the version number in a text file for example?

i forgot to change that reference to the GPSR overlay... i did remember the other 2 though!!
wired, the 'hover over the msi file' would be the best way for people to see the release version
