If the Speed Camera database is from PocketGPSWorld you can configure them using Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI you will need to do this for each camera category you have installed, if you are using the Speed Zoned file set this means 24 set-ups. Don't work you only do this once, the updates simply replace the old data with new.
If you are using the TomTom supplied database then I am not too sure how that is configured anymore - Mike

I have a nav 5 system on a dell aximx51.

My problem is that I keep losing my faourites, home and the speed camera locations when I turn off the unit.

I have tried to folow the advice given on the forum for other pdas but as a novice I get the same problem as the person with the problem on the forum.

If any one has the time to talk me through this can you help?

I get as far as trying to run cmd and then I'm stuck as it can not find the file?

Sorry to be so dim but really need your help here!

Thanks

What file? Have you copied the contents of your SD card to your PC? Go back to my original post and step through it. I honestly can't see how I can make it any clearer than it is.

Got to documents and settings, but using the ATTRIB command does not produce anything. Reads command not recognised?

Any further help out there?

Still hanging in the dark! Thanks for help so far but not quite there yet.

If you have any more time would appreciate assistance.

Thanks

Quite why you've copied the SD card to the Desktop escapes me, but whatever....

Because it's on your Desktop, it will actually be located in a folder beneath 'C:\Documents and Settings'. In that folder will be another, named with your login ID. So, if you log in as 'Fred', your PDABackup folder will be located in 'C:\Documents and Settings\Fred\Desktop\PABackup'. So, using my earlier instructions, once you're at the black screen with white text prompt (what's known variously as a command window, console window, DOS box, OS prompt), get to the part that says to type 'CD PDABackup' but instead use the command

C: then press ENTER
CD "C:\Documents and Settings\Fred\Desktop\PABackup" then press ENTER.

Note the double-quotes - you need those because the first folder name contains a space. The prompt will now change to:

C:\Documents and Settings\Fred\Desktop\PABackup

Type:

DIR then press ENTER.

If you see something like this:

Volume in drive C is 746
Volume Serial Number is 0000-0014

Directory of C:\Documents and Settings\Fred\Desktop\PABackup

01/12/2006 10:06 [DIR] .
01/12/2006 10:06 [DIR] ..
0 File(s) 0 bytes
2 Dir(s) 274,006,016 bytes free

that means the folder is empty and that your files haven't been copied over.

You should see a scrolling list of files and folders before returning to the prompt. If you do, you can now use the ATTRIB and other commands as per my original post.
