just buy a decent map from one of the many outlets on-line, or wait till you get there and buy a government map.
you will need to set your meridian to whatever map datum is used and also your coordinate format. that information should be contained on the map. |

Sorry, what I ment is maps that can be uploaded to the unit. I used this unit in the midwest last month and mapsend NA had every single street and back alley that I drove. I mean even out in the middle of nowhere I still showed where I was at. Is this not available for kauai? |

Thanks!
I even called Magellan and (after a 39 min wait) asked about Hawaii and they said they do not have any products for that region. Possibly it is only for the actual island of Hawaii?
Thanks again for the help.

This reply may be way too late to be helpful, and I hope I understand the question correctly, but I just opened up my MapSend Topo, version 4.20d, and zoomed in on four of the islands right down to street level in the cities. Does this answer anything or did I misunderstand?

I couldn't find a way to edit my post so I just added one.
I just checked an atlas to see which island is Kaua'i and zoomed in on that one in MapSend Topo. Same thing - every city I zoomed into gave me the street level detail, just like I'm accustomed to seeing in mainland cities.
