Who knows? PowerLOC are not saying. The German review I saw implies they fitted the whole of Germany into one segment.
Personally I will really miss having to work out which map to load before traveling, reloading the program half way through a journey, getting annoyed when you stray onto the border between two maps etc etc. |

Its still in segments but its got a new feature where you can "cut" the sections your require. They can be as small or as large as you want to the limit of the memory card and processing. |

One would have thought with the amount of internal memory now available on PDAs these days they could have got round this, there again I am no expert and I expect there is some downside to accessing the maps from non-memory locations all the time.
To be honest all I really want from D3 is uploadable POI and a few little enhancements like how far to destination and ETA. |

I agree, Destinator 2.0 is really missing the "Safe Mode" feature (how it is called by CoPilot) -- just show me next maneuver, distance to it, total ETA, car speed on whole screen without the map!
saw this in TomTom snapshots, CoPilot, Magellan, ...
I currently spend too much time trying to locate the distance to the next turn and what kind of turn is that... |

Actually D2 already tells you how far to the next change of direction - this is so usefuly as you can position yourself in the correct lane, what I really want is the total distance before destination so you know to start looking for landmarks etc. |
