Have I lost all my stuff as I had my poi warner on there and paid for it and is so then its gonna be hard I think getting another one the same installed because it had a spoecial number. As you've discovered, doing that resets the PocketPC to out of the box settings. Even if switched off like that for 30secs it will do the same. Normally you would only resort to that if you had an issue you were trying to resolve and all else had failed _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have also learned (the hard way) about the extent of a hard reset. I have since started to use the backup tool on the program files menu.
You can backup EVERYTHING onto your mmc card so that if it comes to restoring you will get all your pictures, files, configuration etc. back. It takes a few minutes to do the backup and it's well worth it!
You may need to format your memory card though to get more space. My backup uses around 21Mb at the mo.
I have generated a custom map using the pc software which includes just the UK for now. It is around 160Mb which leaves me with +-85Mb on the card.

Just remember to backup your storage card to PC once in a while. If your Pocket PC went walkies, then at least you would have a complete backup of it then, or even if the storage card failed. |
