Better to be safe than sorry. Especially where pc's or PPC's are concerned.

One minute you just want Tomtom and GB map, then you decide to put a game on there for the kids, next you decide that seeing as your driving to France for a hol, you may as well install the french map.
Only to find that you've not got enough memory.

And, seeing as the 1Gb card is so cheap, why not spoil yourself.

Sorry for being a little confused. I have an Acer N35 with Destinator PN on it. I would like to add the camera database which I have down loaded. But where do I put it and what do I do to activate it.
This thread is so long that I can't seem to find the answer.
Thanks

Will sort via pm.

However, this thread is getting a little long and confused so I'll ask the mods if they can stop anymore messages and post instructions and necessary files in the sticky section.

Good idea. Feel free to include any of my variants if they help.

Unfortunately you have to pay for the files. You can either opt for the monthly update at £2 per month or when ever you download the files or the yearly fee of £19 and you cna download as many times as you like and there are other perks with this but I can't remember what they are. Smile

hadletman1 you will eed to go to the beginning of this forum and read through pages one and two this is where the full instructions are on how to configure the files for the speed cameras. As there are only two alerts available you will need to decide if you want a mixture of gatsos and mobiles in one file and another to contain all the other types of cameras.

Personally I put gatso, truvelo and mobile together and redlight with the rest.

I've been reading through this and I must say the resolve you guys have in getting to the bottom of this is fantastic to say the least.

I'm confused though... Let me explain in a manner that I feel comfortable with - I'm hoping you experts can aid and abet me! Confused

1. I downloaded the data base. £2 Laughing Out Loud.
2. It contained five files Version 4.074 22 July 2006.

pocketgps_uk_gatso
pocketgps_uk_mobile
pocketgps_uk_redlight
pocketgps_uk_specs
pocketgps_uk_temp

3. I renamed these "gatso", "mobile", "redlight", "specs", "temp"

4. I then made some wav files and icons calling them exactly the same as above, stored them on my PC.

5. Then I used ActiveSync and Import the *.csv files one by one using the Destinator Console Favorites import to the following directory. (I had to click on map UK_Ireland first to highlight these buttons) The software did the rest.

6. Then I had to cut and paste the wav files to the following directories as the console does not do this... Although ActiveSync kicks in and informs you it might change the file type - which it seems not to as I cut and pasted them into my GNAV10.

WAV into ResidentFlash/DestinatorApps/Destinator/Common/Interface/Voice/All
ICONS (BMP) into
ResidentFlash/DestinatorApps/Destinator/Common/Favorites

7. I then go to Favorites on the GNAV and select the files and add my ICONS (The icons work great) but no Voice.

8. Also I hate that Fav_Alert text - I can't seem to change it even though I know you guys can I don't have the confidence or capability to mess around with this inf file.

So to recap I have it half working, but I lack the voice and text can someone post me the file or at least post it here and tell me where it went wrong.

Another suggestion - if you have these files and it works a treat on your GNAV system how about zipping them up, inf, sound, icons infact all with instructions where each one goes and post them to me (without the database of course because wee all pay for that)

I'll post the zip file on my website and link to it here - Us thicko's then have a way not to you all off on this site Laughing Out Loud!?

Cheers

Zoid

You ned to import the new file using the 'Destinator Console' on the CD that you probably used to put Destinator in your pda
