I talked to sales over at Destinator and told me for current customers that the upgrade to D3 would be $150 for software and maps. I only bought this product in late September. I am not happy at all with there upgrade paths. I am going to wait for reviews of this product but I think I am going to switch to CoPilot. I have used teletype and D2.

Destinator 3 will be much better (still awaiting our copy), but CoPilot really is great!

$150 does seem steep for an upgrade - especially as the upgrade from D1 to D2 was around $75.

Granted it seems to be a much rounded product but information on it is still thin-on-the-ground - I am surprised PowerLoc have not emailed everyone to announce it.

Dave, can't wait to read your review...

Maybe you could publish it parts or in form of "Beta" Laughing

When?

Thanks,
-Boris

Boris, the review is complete, but we are waiting for some information back from PowerLOC regarding some of the problems we have experienced before publishing the review. Unfortunately our contact at PowerLOC has been off work, and is back now, so I hope that the review will be released within days.

The latest we know is that to upgrade from D2 to D3 is $50 BUT.. to upgrade D2 to D3 with new Navtech maps is $149.

D3 is a completely new product and has features that are worth the wait. The best IMHO is the trip optimising function. ..Put all your visits for the day into D3 (by postcode or favourites) and D3 will calculate the routing. Then press Optimize and it will sort out the best route for you and guide you there.

This is similar to the function on Autoroute which is great if you have multiple destinations in one day.

The upgrade price of $149 does seem very steep particularly when you consider that I have just paid $179 for the full European version at www.buyGPSnow.com.

Dave, what kind of problems have you run into? How is performance of acquiring sats and route recalculation?

Confused

Performance I haven't had a problem with, mainly routing algorithms which I'm told PowerLOC are working on.
